Sunu has the first chance of the game, but his 25yard freekick flies just wide of the post. Blyth hit back but have their effort chalked off for offside. Lancaster manage to gain the lead though, Liversidge's deep cross finding Sunu, who flicks a header, ever so faintly, into the net. Sunu has the last chance of the half, but his effort is palmed over the bar. A thorn in Lancaster's side from times gone by, Catto, gifts them a penalty. Kearney steps up... and smashes it into the top left corner. It was a strong hard working performance from Lancaster. FULL TIME.

Lancaster get off to a wonderful start, Liversidge crossing from deep, and with Alfreton keeper coming to collect, he misjudges, and Sunu runs in front and heads it away from him into his goal. Bezhadi has the best other chance in the second half, but he couldnt keep his half volley down. Godsmark is tackled in the box, but it doesnt matter as Kearney whips in his trademark cross, and Sunu meets it with an outstretched boot to poke it in for 2-0. Strutter replaces Godsmark. Alfreton manage to silence the Giant Axe faithful though, Davidson breaking past Kirkup and firing past a helpless Jonsson. After a period of intense pressure, Lancaster manage to break free and on the counter score a third, Sunu's first shot hitting the bar, his second hitting the back of the net. Sunu is taken off for Kekic, Sunu getting a standing ovation. Alfreton lose Woolford, their best player in the game to a red card, for dissent. FULL TIME.

It doesnt take long for Sunu to dispatch the Harrow defence, Kearney's long ball finding him, and after beating a defender, whacks it into the top left corner. Harrow certainly look like a team in trouble, Bezhadi easily jinking his way around their defence, but he puts his shot high and wide. A crazy 3 minutes ensue, Bezhadi going down under a hefty Smith challenge, the physio comes on and scuffle occurs, resulting in Tooms being sent off for Alfreton. Sunu has a great effort before half time, being played in by Karacan, but his shot also goes high and wide. Poroarson replaced Strutter and Marshall replaces Bezhadi. It was a very quiet second half, Marshall having the best effort. FULL TIME.

Lancaster start the better side, Strutter putting over and firing wide. A wonderful one-two between Sunu and Kearney opens up the Hucknall defence, with Kearney shooting low into the corner with his left foot. The lead is doubled when Kirkup's cross from the right finds Sunu, who glances a header away from the keeper. An early setback for Lancaster, as Bezhadi is taken off injured, replaced with Marshall. Gateshead hit Lancaster quickly, McDonald playing to Okike, who smashes a long range effort past Jonsson. They then hit Lancaster on the counter, and Okike thumps another shot past Jonsson. Lancaster's best chance of the half falls to Kearney, but he cant direct his show into the open goal. After a heavy teamtalk, Johannesson seems to have listened and he plays a through ball to Sunu, who its low into the bottom right corner. Kekic and Poroarson replace Strutter and Karacan. Sunu however makes it clear that he wants a goal, and Jonsson's pass finds him on the edge of the box, and Sunu hits a low shot under the keeper for 1-0. A Johannesson freekick is the only other oppurtunity of the half as Lancaster play it out to half time. Doesnt take long in the second half for Lancaster to double the lead, Bezhadi crossing to Jonsson who powers a header past the goalkeeper. F.Jonsson makes a good save from Senior in the dying minutes, but then E.Jonsson is sent off for a second yellow, a red patch on an otherwise good performance. FULL TIME.

The Lancaster fans sang and sang and sang in the stadium for hours after the game. They had made it to the Blue Square Premier.

Lancaster WIN Blue Square Northern

Lancaster CITY FC fans are said to be absolutely over the moon after their boss, Icelandic Hjortur Olafsson, after he masterminded their way to a glorious season of winning the Blue Square Northern title. One of the fans spokepersons, remarked that they viewed Hjortur Olafsson as a miracle worker, and had done wonders with the squad he inherited.

Speaking after the result, the Lancaster City board have declared that the triumph in the Blue Square Northern 'a truly momentous' occasion and they are delighted with their manager for bringing home the trophy. The board also stated that with Olafsson at the helm, anything seemed possible and they were delighted with the success he had brought to them.

Lancaster City FC left-winger Alan Kearney spoke to us after the game.

"Alan, congratulations on the success of Lancaster City this season, and all with 7 games to go. How do you feel?"

"Im overjoyed to have clinched the Blue Square Northern title this season."

"How much do you feel the manager has contributed to this?"

"Everything. He brought us lads together, and his leadership qualities have definitely shown through for us. This was definitely the main catalyst to our success."

"Thanks Alan, we'll let you go and celebrate now."

"Thanks."

It might become clear now to many that Olafsson has got the talent, and could succeed at higher levels of the game, but for now, is with Lancaster.

After finally celebrating their success this season, and for reaching 101points, matching the amount Boston United got last season, it was party time at the Giant Axe. Daniel Hunter had ordered a lot of alcohol, and the players drank til the night was over. Hjortur, not much of a drinker, and having to drive home, didnt have any. His phone started to ring.

"Hjortur! Hjortur! Come home quick."

It was Erica, and she sounded extremely happy.

"Alright, ill be there soon."

After bidding his players farewell, he left the stadium and got in his car. It was pouring it down with rain aswell. He had been driving for 10minutes, reaching a junction in the town centre. he pulled out, in his own right, but nothing could prepare anyone for what happened next. The heavy rain had seriously affected the ground, as everyone knew, it was common sense. But it clearly wasnt for the man driving the lorry on the opposite end of the junction...

Local Football Manager in Horrific Accident

Lancaster City FC manager Hjortur Olafsson was tonight named as the victim of an horrific crash just off a local junction in Lancaster city centre. The other victim, a lorry driver from France, was unhurt, but was tested and found to be extremely over the limit. The lorry lost traction on the slippery road, and skidded across the other side of the road, before coming into contact with Mr Olafsson's vehicle. The cars bumper was crushed on impact, but the lorry carried on with its skid, dragging Mr Olafsson's car with it, eventually ploughing it into a local shop wall. Mr Olafsson had been celebrating with his team after achieving promotion this season to the Blue Square Premier. News is still awaited on his condition...

Saturday 20th June -

The funeral procession walked along the graveyard path up towards the church. A lot of people had turned up for the funeral, just over 200. Daniel Hunter walked along at the back, along with some of the Lancaster players. Erica was at the front along with Hjortur's mother.

They reached the church, and the hearse was unloaded and the coffin was carried in to the church.

Everyone sat down silently and the vicar began the ceremony.

Everyone listened to the story of Hjortur's life, how he had lived, and everything he had achieved. A man in a wheelchair also gave a speech.

After the vicar had finished, everyone headed outside, most of them for a cigarette and a chatter to everyone else. Erica walked across to the man sat in the wheelchair.

"How are you feeling?"

She hugged the man.

"Ive felt much better."

"Lets go home, ey Hjortur, take your mind off it."

"Yeah, let me just say goodbye to mum first."

"Of course sweetie."

Hjortur wheeled across, and embraced his mother for a long time, whilst Erica stood and waited for him.

"You have a lovely girl there son, you take care of her. Love her like your father loved me."

"I will mum, and dad will always love you from wheres hes gone too, you know that."

"I do." And for the first time since he had died, she smiled, and kiss her son on the cheek.

"Thanks Daniel, lets hope we can stay up"

Another early setback in as many games for Lancaster, Graham heading home a corner after 2mins for the visitors. The lead is doubled a few minutes later. Boyd crossing for Boden who takes a touch and places his shot past Gomez. Lancaster immediately pull back though, Bezhadi crossing to Sunu who stretched to meet the ball and poke it home. Sunu scores the equaliser, but his goal is chalked off for a foul on the keeper. Kirkup, Kasiama, Godsmark and Ragnarsson come on at half time for Johannesson, de Waal, Strutter and Karacan. Sunu plays a lovely through ball to Godsmark, who takes a touch, and fires his shot low under the keeper to equal the game. The winner comes late on in the game, Kearney playing a ball across the back of the Peterborough defence, and a deflection sees it land at Jonsson's feet, and his volley goes flying in. Great comeback. FULL TIME.

Lancaster take a good early lead, MacAloney's deep cross finding Kearney at the backpost unmarked, and he pokes the ball in from a tight angle. The lead is doubled by Strutter, who fires home a crisp shot from just inside the corner of the box. Kearney grabs his second not much longer on, de Waal's pass finding Kearney who places his finish well. Kekic and Godsmark replace Sunu and Bezhadi. Gomez is called into action early, saving well from a Feeney effort. Preston do get their goal though, McGrail finishing well from close range. Vaughan then splits open the defence with a sublime pass to McGrail who finishes well past Gomez. Sunu has Lancaster's best chance, finding himself through on goal, but his shot goes well over. A wonderful early start by Lancaster see's Kearney pump a long cross along to Sunu, who races ahead and fires past the keeper for 1-0. Sunu doubles his tally, Emslie setting him up and him finishing well, but he picks up an injury and is then taken off, preventing him from getting a hat-trick. Squad Report 09/10;

Jordi Gomez - GK - 29yo - A very reliable goalkeeper for Hjortur, but saw hardly any action last season. Has no competition as yet, and will probably be first choice providing he cuts the errors out of his game.

Peter de Waal - DC - 24yo - A very good centre back with a good freekick on him. Had a sensational first season for the club and will be first choice again this year, probably with Johannesson.

Paul MacAloney - DRC/WBR - 23yo - The captain of the team, puts in extremely good crosses and leads by example. Hjortur will be looking for another star year, hopefully with the avoidance of a 3month injury.

Tinni Kari Johannesson - DC - 22yo - Has had two terrific seasons with the club, and will join de Waal in defence.

Dan Kirkup - DC - 21yo - A good young centreback, but may once again be frozen out of the squad by de Waal and Johannesson.

Sam Liversidge - DL/AML - 19yo - A great full back with a good future ahead of him. Is the only left back the club has after Michael Howard left.

Hannes Ragnarsson - DC/DM - 18yo - Only backup this season, may get a look in as a DM.

Atli Sigurosson - D/MR - 19yo - A good young full back, will finally provide cover for MacAloney.

Eggert Jonsson - D/MC - 20yo - Still a top player at the club, one Hjortur cannot afford to lose. Is now no longer a teenager, and is definitely the main central midfielder for Lancaster.

Bobby Bezhadi - WB/MR - 28yo - Has had two good seasons with the club and is now a fans' favourite as he tops the clubs appearances chart. Will be first choice on the right wing again.

Alan Kearney - ML - 21yo - Had a delightful season, and was voted player of the year. Took the clubs assist chart title away from Bezhadi, notching up 16 assists and 15 goals last season. Will take the teams penalties again.

Sinisa Kekic - D/AM/FC - 39yo - Was influential last season, and his ability to play all down the centre made him a valuable player. Is retiring next year and will provide all he can before he signs off the game.

Mark Marshall - AMR - 23yo - A good winger, lacks a bit of pace but makes up for it with a good finishing skill. Will be backup for Bezhadi again this season.

Jem Karacan - MC - 20yo - Star midfielder, played well last season alongside Jonsson. Will need tot ry and avoid injury this season, as getting back into the squad with the likes of Kasiama and Emslie waiting in the wings.

Paul Emslie - MC - 21yo - A very good young midfielder, who made a few sub appearances for Rangers last season. Will provide competition for Karacan.

Fabrice Kasiama - MC - 19yo - Will play the same kind of role as Emslie this season. A good midfielder, may get loaned out though.

Paul Edwards - AML - 29yo - Signed as backup for Kearney. Is quick and can put a cross in.

Mike Strutter - AM/FC - 22yo - A great finisher of the ball, his and Sunu's partnership last year proving immense. Will need to avoid injury though, with the talented Godsmark waiting for his chance.

Gilles Sunu - ST - 18yo - Scored alot of goals last season at such a tender age, this guy is hot property once more, with a whole host of clubs watching him. Gets better and better and will look to improve his partnership with Strutter again.

Paul Rowe - ST - 19yo - Can finish well and has the attributes to hold down a place. Is likely though to be fourth choice.

Jonathan Godsmark - AMR/ST - 19yo - A great young player, who will push Strutter all the way for that second strikers slot.

A poor start from Lancaster sees them give away the ball too much, and are nearly made to pay by Mozika, but a good save from Gomez prevented it. Chester lose their most influential player, Richie Partridge to injury. A half of few chances ends with Mozika firing over from just outside the area. Lancaster's first chance of the half fell to Strutter, but he failed to make his chance count. Sunu then hits the crossbar with a cracking effort, but once again they fail to find the net. After a horrific defensive ricochet, Strutter finds himself one-on-one with the keeper, but his effort is saved and cleared. Going with the run of play, Lancaster finally take the lead. Kearney's cross is deflected back to him, but his second time cross finds Strutter, who heads it over the keeper. Mozika tried to pull his side level, but his effort from 40yards was saved easily by Gomez. Godsmark, Emslie and Marshall replace Bezhadi, Karacan and Sunu.

Sunu immediately set about to assert his authority, blasting a freekick just over the bar in the first 3 minutes. 3 minutes later and he forced Veiga into a smart save. Veiga is then forced into another save as Strutter fires in from an angle. The resulting corner saw the first goal though, Liversidge crossing in to find Jonsson who rises above them all to fire home a delightful header. Against the run of play though, Tamworth fire straight back into the game, Innes firing past Gomez, and the onrushing Kirkup tried to clear but ended up sticking it in his own net. Tamworth take a complete surprise lead, Bains bending in a freekick from 25yards. Kearney had a wonderful chance to make his mark on the game, but his effort was easily smothered by Veiga. Lancaster came out a different side in the second half, the first chance they got fell to Sunu, who sweetly hit a volley past Veiga to make it 2-2. An injured Johannesson is taken off injured for Ragnarsson. Hjortur also takes the time to replace an ailing Karacan with Emslie. If there had ever been a time in Hjorturs life, when he found it hard to breathe, it was right now.

"It turned blue!"

"What the hell does that mean?!? Im no woman you know."

"Well, it turned blue Hjortur!"

Erica embraced Hjortur. The pregnancy test she had taken had turned blue, but being a man, Hjortur still didnt understand. He ran down to the kitchen and found the box it had come in, and checked what blue meant. Pregnant. Oh my god. Pregnant! Hjortur was going to have a little Hjortur running around the house! Providing it was a boy of course.

He ran back upstairs to find Erica sat on the bed, tears in her eyes. Hjortur ran across and kissed her on the lips.

"Were calling him Hjortur Jnr, alright?"

Erica laughed and hit him playfully on the arm.

"Who says it going to be a boy, ey?"

Hjortur smiled, and brought her close to him.

A wonderful solo effort from Kearney was the next best chance, but his final shot was well over. Both teams went into half time with their heads high, Lancaster having been the better side though. The second half started as dull as the first one ended, a Sunu freekick saved easily, and a Sheehan shot went well wide for Rochdale. The first goal of the game came just before half time though, Strutter heading down a long ball from Kearney to Sunu, who fired low and into the corner to put Lancaster one goal up. Liam Flynn was sure it was offside, but who cares? He stole my job and team. The second half started even better for Lancaster, Strutter (who hasnt got much pace) won a race for the ball, and crossed for Sunu, who missed it, and his feigned shot fooled the keeper, and Karacan was waiting to strike it home away from the keeper. Godsmark and Kekic came on to replace Marshall and Strutter. Instant problems for Lancaster, as Marshall is taken off injured, and replaced with Godsmark. Beesley wastes a good chance for Forest Green, finding ample space in the centre of the box, but shooting wide. Lancaster manage to clamber into the lead though, Sunu and Strutter playing a delightful one-two between each other, Strutter finally finding a goal after a long absence without one. The second half starts just as brightly for Lancaster, Strutter setting up Sunu this time with a through ball, and Sunu firing home his 10th of the season, his 51st league goal, seeing hime jump to the top of the league scoring charts for Lancaster. Forest Green snap back like a mighty bull terrier though, Conal Platt beating the offside trap, to whip a shot under Gomez. Lancaster then find themselves under the kosh, and Forest Green pull level, Neill heading home from a Lawless cross. Emslie and Kekic come on to replace Strutter and Sunu. The comeback is complete when Neill is on the end of a long ball, and he shoots past Gomez. Dreadful second half performance. FULL TIME. N.B. The attendance became the new record, beating the one set two games ago against Boston.

Tuesday 6th - vs. Oxford United, The Kassam Stadium

Blue Square Premier

Atli Sigurosson makes his debut for Lancaster, deputising on the right for the injured Marshall and underperforming Bezhadi. Oxford are the form team, and currently sit top of the Blue Square Premier.

Oxford started the better of the two sides, showing why they sit top of the pack, captain Burnell forcing Gomez into a save on two occasions. But it was Lancaster who stunned the Kassam faithful, Sunu driving out wide, pumped a low cross to an unmarked Karacan, who fired in to assert his authority as the midfield boss. Quinn then compounded Oxfords first half misery, gifting a penalty after a foul on Sunu. With Kearney on holiday, Kirkup steps up, and shoots past the keepers left arm to make it 2-0. The second half, once again, started dreadful for Lancaster, and with 45 seconds Oxford had pulled one back, a long ball finding Husbands (who had tortured Hjortur two seasons ago when he was with AFC Telford) and he fired past a helpless Gomez. Oxford are level not long later, Dutton-Black crossing for Poole who somehow manages to bundle the ball across the line for 2 yards. Its an instant tactical reply from Hjortur, and it pays off as a long ball finds Edwards on the wing, and his cross meets the head of Sunu who flicks his header in to regain his side the lead. A complete error allows Oxford to equalise, as Kirkup's harmless backpass sees Gomez completely NOT kick the ball, and Odhiambo steals in to knock his side level. Another shocking second half performance from Lancaster, something that needs ironing out. FULL TIME.

A horrible start for Lancaster as a Farrell cross finds Cross, who taps it in past Gomez. Some great defending from Johanesson stops York scoring again, and his long ball to Karacan results in a superb counter-attack, Karacan smacking the ball low and hard past the York keeper. Both sides level at half time. The second started much like the first, but it was Lancaster who got the first goal this time, Johanesson once again turning provider, and launching a counter that ends with Strutter sidefooting past the keeper. Johanesson caps off a remarkable performance, heading in a Liversidge corner to give his side a distinct advantage. A remarkable day for him. For some unknown reason, Strutter won man of the match. "Daniel, we need to talk."

"What can I do for you, Hjortur?"

"I think its time for me to resign. My girlfriend Erica is pregnant, and we need to take the time to concentrate on this. Its really important to me, especially with my own father gone, that my baby gets the start that he deserves."

"Alright Hjortur, if thats what you want. Where will you go, stay in Lancaster or move elsewhere?"

"Were going back to Iceland to live with my mother in the family house, until me and Erica can get our own place."

"Im really saddened by this, Hjortur. Youve taken this club so far, we felt you could take us even further. Possibly even league football. But now we wont know..."

"Im sorry Daniel, I hope as a father yourself, that you would understand why im doing it."

Daniel smiled, "I do, as a father, your doing completely the right thing. As a chairman, its a catastrophe!"

They both laughed, and Daniel opened up his cabinet and got out a canter of whiskey.

"One for the road, Hjortur."

They clinked their glasses, and drank the burning contents of their glasses.

*****

The game now goes on holiday until May 2011, where Hjortur's career will resume. Ive had this written up for a long time, but with Tina Powell's story, sort of got sidetracked.

Erica was rushed in to hospital in the early hours of April 20th. After 9 hours in labour, she gave birth to a beautiful little boy, and Hjortur persuaded her to name him Hjortur aswell.

"Hjortur the 3rd."

"I am NOT calling my son 'The 3rd' Hjortur. Hjortur Jnr or nothing."

"Deal."

They both smiled and hugged little Hjortur. Both of them had never been happier and felt that this was a step towards a life together.

"Do you think he will grow up to look like his dashing father?

"Im not sure, personally I think he has the look of his gorgeous mother."

Hjortur shot a hurtful look towards her, but couldnt help smiling soon after.

"Ill give you that one."

Doctor Ottarsson briefly came in, and said that the baby was healthy in all areas, and they should be able to leave in a few days. Erica kissed Hjortur, and then fell asleep, tired after such a hard days work.

With Hjortur Jnr now 1 year old, Hjortur Snr felt it was the right time to get back into the game. After so much success with Lancaster, it was going to be hard to start over, but he felt he had the credentials to start again.

PSV Eindhoven had recently sacked their manager, but Hjortur laughed at the idea of him even managing at that level anytime soon. There were hardly any jobs anywhere, but it was the end of May, some were bound to show up soon.

Hjortur couldnt have been anymore wrong about jobs popping up. There were few, especially fewer in his range. He had to wait until the 15th December before one finally popped up. And where was it situated? 50miles south of Lancaster. Hjortur was going 50miles downwards, to Leigh, and to take charge of Leigh Genesis.

*****

After a brief chat with Bill Taylor, chairman of Leigh Genesis, the contract was offered to Hjortur. He had 6 months, 6 months to keep the club in the league. Beyond that, anything was possible. There were to be no transfer funds though... and with January approaching, would have been a welcome sight.

£80 a week was offered, and Hjortur would need to take up a second job to keep himself and his family going over. He was quite disappointed that no jobs had come up in Iceland, he had really fancied the idea of managing at home. Maybe in the future...

Was an efficient start for Leigh, going close through Coles. It doesnt take long though, Coles getting it right the second time after being played through by Kay, and he poked his shot into the bottom corner. Worcester managed to bring the game back into contention, Smith playing Wood in, and he smashed his shot past Behcet. The first half ends with Jackson wasting a one-on-one. Worcester started the much stronger side in the second half, Little crossing in for Livermore, who heads it past Behcet. Chapman comes on to replace Jackson. Kay is then taken off injured, and is replaced with Rix. The game ends quietly, and Hjortur suffers his first loss as Leigh manager. The club needs a lot of work... FULL TIME.

Once again Leigh started the much better side, and the first chance they got they scored. Watts pumping a cross to the far side, where an onrushing Filipek met it with his head, and powered it home. There were numerous golden opportunities for Leigh to double the lead, but Coles, Jackson and Watts couldnt find the back of the net. More injury worries as Watts is taken off and replaced with Kear. Jackson went close at the end of the half, but wasted his chance once more, and Leigh will look back and hope these misses dont cost them, especially considering theyre away from home. Leigh were forced to pay for their misdemeanour, as Gateshead pulled level. Gunby with the cross found the head of Hughes, but the ball came back to Gunby, who volleyed it in to put his side level. Okike and Gunby both came close to crushing Leigh's hearts. But it wasnt them who scored next. Jackson broke through after a long ball from Behcet, and shrugged off two defenders to drill it under the keeper to make it 2-1. Jackson had three more chances, but struck the woodwork twice, leaving much to be desired over his record as top scorer. Gateshead had ample amount of chances to steal a point, especially with the 5mins added time, but Leigh held out, and won their first game under Hjortur. FULL TIME.

It was a really quiet start from both sides, Milner coming close for Workington. But it was Leigh who opened the scoring midway through the first half, Henry playing Jackson through, and he rounds the keeper before tapping into an empty goal to put Leigh ahead. Workington worked hard to pull level, and achieved it quickly, Smith passing to Kerr, whos long shot completely bamboozled Behcet and it went in. It got worse for Workington though, as Hall was sent off for achieving a second yellow card. Leigh from there on battered the Workington goal, and were rewarded when Jackson repaid Henry for his earlier through ball, and set him up, and Henry side footed past the Workington keeper to make it 2-1. The second half started with just as much fervour, with Filipek and Jackson testing the keeper from distance. The pair then combined to lay on a third for Leigh, Filipek crossing to Jackson, who handled it well, and smashed it into the bottom right corner. A man down, Workington never looked like they did after they equalised, and the game saw them bow out with a whimper. FULL TIME.

Leigh got off to a flying start, with a long Pettigrew pass finding Filipek, whos first touch belies gravity, and he finds himself free on goal, and he smashes the ball under the keeper. The lead is doubled pretty quickly after that, Coles seeing his shot deflected into the path of Jackson, who taps it in to make it two. Leigh continued to apply the pressure, Coles wasting two golden opportunities. Gainsborough had the best chance to score before the end of the half, but Mitch Butler saw his shot rocket off Behcet's chest. The second half started just as well for Leigh, Jackson and Pettigrew both going close with headers. Coles is then taken off for Guonason, to get his debut. The second half was nothing like the first, and ended pretty quickly. Jackson and Filipek both had final chances to add to the scoreline, but it ended 2-0. FULL TIME.

A good start for Leigh, with chances falling to Filipek and Henry, but both were saved well. Southport fought to get back into the game, forging chances through Smith and McLellan, but it was Leigh who took the lead. A great cross from the left from Watts found Coles, who thumped a strong header into the net from 6yards out. Southport continued to be the better side, creating a lot of chances, but paying the price for being unable to convert them and they head in at half time behind. Leigh come out the better side in the second half, and play well to create a goal, Filipek whipping a cross into the box, but Southport defender Roeton misjudged, and it clattered off his knee into his own goal. Leigh compound further misery on their closest rivals, Watts crossing into the box and finding Henry, who after a miskick, gets his second on target, and it flies into the roof of the net. Robinson picks up an injury a minute from time and is replaced with Alexandersson. The final whistle blows, and Leigh fans have bragging rights until the next game. FULL TIME.

Leigh start the better of the sides, Kings Lynn looking shaky away from home. Kay goes close with a long range freekick. Leigh continue to apply the pressure, but its evident that Lynn are playing for the draw with their defensive tactics. Coles has a terrific chance to break the deadlock, but he skies his shot way over. Both sides head in wondering how to turn this match into something viewable. The second half starts extremely badly, with neither side looking dangerous. The first chance of the half comes from Jackson, as he beats a defender but fires his shot straight at the keepers knees. After over 70minutes of knocking on the door, Leigh finally break it down. Watts down the left whips in a terrific cross, and Jackson stretches to meet it, and somehow pokes it past the keeper. A frantic final few minutes sees Filipek and Watts have efforts cleared off the line, and Jackson have one saved. The final minute sees the most action of the game, and Leigh's Pettigrew is sent off for fouling as the last man. The freekick is curled towards goal, and Behcet saves delightfully to keep his side in the running for all 3 points. A double save in the 96th minute from Behcet ensures his side take all the points, and Leigh head home with a fifth straight win. FULL TIME.

This is quite the run you've got going with Leigh, and an excellent story to boot. I like the sense of realism in this one, you really share in the ups and downs associated with having to grind out a living in the basement divisions. Very much looking forward to seeing what lies in store for Hjortur in the years to come, KUTGW!

Hednesford started the better side, going close with a Dillon header. Five minutes later, and Dillon forced Behcet into a save from just outside the area. Against the run of play, it was Leigh who took the lead, Filipek's cross from the right finding Jackson, who headed onto the post, and Watts was there to poke it home second time round. Hednesford continued to play as the better side, troubling the left side, under the stewardship of left back Ironside, and came close with Dillon once more. Half time came as a welcome respite for Leigh. Leigh come out on fire, and start with a Kay freekick testing the goalkeeper from 40yards. But Hednesford regain a foothold and pull back into the game, Mullen passing to Maddison, who pulls the trigger and fires past Behcet. Leigh dont seem content with Hednesford, and they regain the lead a minute later, Watts playing Filipek through, and he threads the ball past the keeper to make it 2-1. Hednesford pull level once more though, as Skinnerp lays Mullen in, and he flicks the ball past Behcet. Annoyingly, Leigh have a man down, and were looking to make a sub. Leigh are gifted a golden chance to take the lead back, Mayfield bringing down Filipek in the area. Vauls steps up to spot... and fires the penalty way over. With the penalty gone, Filipek seems livid, and goes on a terrific run, beating three playing before lashing the ball into the top corner. Marshall comes on to replace the injured Kay. Hednesford apply the pressure once more, and get the ball into the net, Hallett heading from a Hughes cross. But its ruled out for offside, and Leigh are let off. The final whistle blows on a delightful game, and Hednesford manager Gary Peters gave a good account of himself. FULL TIME.

Hednesford Town 2 (Maddison 51, Mullen 70)

Leigh Genesis 3 (Watts 30, Filipek 53, 87)
