markporter
Im in the year 2026 with Tottenham and have just stumbled across Watfords Stadium. I was confused when i saw a World Cup semi-final being held at Vicarage Road when i realised the stadium was over 90,000 seater!!! Would this be possible???!!! http://img142.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vicarageroadhq6.png

kevhamster
I guess if they've been super-successful on your game, then it makes sense.

Toon07
I don't think Vickarage road could ever be expanded that much,so I would guess it's either a bug or someone has accidentally changed the capacity in the editor.
markporter
Hmmm ye i thort it might be a bug as im sure Vickarage road could never be expanded that much. I have never used the editor so definitely isnt that

nick...
It's good to see that a stadum which wouldn't host the word cup at the start of the game can host it if it becomes big enough at a later date. Have a look at watford's recent history - and max attendance history to see if you can work out when it was built. If watford were doing well and needed an expansion and the stadium was expanded so much especially for the world cup - then that would be awesome. markporter
I had a look, it appears that there stadium was increased all in one go immediately after the season they hit champions league. Must be some sort of bug though how can a stadium more than quadruple in size in one season!!! http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=watfordpw3.png
DarkArcAngel
I've seen many stadium expansions, but this is probably the biggest and fastest one so far for me. One thing i've noted though is the debt part. How much is it anyway cause u kind of made it hard for me to read it? The construction workers who did work on your stadium must have not slept for a whole month or so ... They must have stayed awake all this while. Or maybe they employed zombies, since they are already dead and do not require sleep ...
markporter
Ah yes sorry there debt is 33.5 million. It doesnt seem that much considering the amount a stadium like that would cost. However they have won the league a couple of times and are in the champions league. By the way i do not actually manage Watford this is jus something i stumbled upon. r0x0r
Doign well in the league and champions league can lead to a fair bit of income... So a few good seasons coupled with a low cost squad could build up enough cash reserves to pull it off i guess?
kvadruple
It makes sense - it is possible to build completly new stadium after 2 sesons. And in ome of my games shactar donetsk (ukraine team) started expansion of his cca 20k stadium up to cca 80k - cca 2 years to complete new stadium. markporter
The 89,000 attendences was when the stadium expansion was completed! Vicarage Road is now one of the largest stadiums in the world!
bomjr
Wall, I'm sure by 2020 we'll have floating seats, and holographic avatars. So I definitely think this can be true. LOL. I think Vicarage Road can expand to support that many people. The design of the stadium has to be a work of Genius though.
markporter
Yes it baffels me that they did all this in one summer!!!! those builders must have been foreign

Wolfrain
I'm with Man Utd and over the years they kept on adding to the capacity of Old Trafford and now I play with a 150,000 (One hundread and fifty thousand) capacity.
james_33
This is a bit strange - the expansion capacity in the 8.02 database is listed as 30 000. Does this then mean that the game ignores this field - I would have thought they'd have to build a new stadium - or do they build a new stadium and name it the same?
james_33
They must have built a new stadium and kept the same name - this would explain their attendances not being affected by the build - they would just use the old one while the new one was being built and then move in when it was ready. awblade
no way would the stadium irl ever reach that amount
