Can agents positively influence contract negotiations?

They're often a thorn in our side, but in reality I can think of some situations where an agent could keep a player down to earth and advise him to accept more realistic offers.

It's quite easy to see this. When you offer a contract, there's a panel that explains what type of person the agent is.

Yes, but to me all the positive descriptions sound more like mitigation, like "this agent isn't as terrible as most agents".

I'm wondering whether an agent can go above and beyond and make hubristic players consider clubs and contract offers that they wouldn't have otherwise, as opposed to leaning them in the opposite direction like most do.
