mightyshrimper
So what do the different colour stars on a player report show you ? What are the black stars ? If a player is currently a 2* but his potential shows as 3.5 yellow stars plus a black star, is his potential 3.5* or 4.5* Are there any other colour that I've not seen yet ? HUNT3R
What do the black stars mean on a player? - This means a scout does not have a fully formed opinion of the player and further scouting is needed. The player could be as good as the black stars suggest, but the scout needs to view him more to find out. This can also appear on potential for your own players, especially younger players as simply put, even despite seeing them in training every day they're not quite sure how good they'll be. http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/400274-The-Official-How-Do-I-Find-What-Does-this-mean-Thread
mightyshrimper
In this case your scout is confident that the players has 3.5* potential but he is not 100% & thinks it could be as high as 4.5* & as is always the case it could be lower than either rating. Thanks - so presumably, the same is true when you sign a player and you look at the assistant manager's view - essentially there is an element of doubt in what potential the player can achieve ?
