mchbitil
Interesting problem. Not sure if this is a bug or I don't understand something? Here is Nathan, at Atletico Paranaense. He is 18. He has the contract that expires March 31 2015, and now it's February 19, so it's 6 weeks left. When I'm trying to start contract talks, it says "You must have a transfer offer accepted before you can enter into contract negotiations with this player." Ok, I'm trying to make a transfer offer - and Atletico responds with $30M offer, which is ridiculous. (I could pay $500k at this point of his contract max). What's up? Cougar2010
Part of his contract is owned by an agent?
mchbitil
Part of his contract is owned by an agent? yes, co-owned by agent.A few days later, he was signed by Slovan Bratislava for $0 transfer fee. wtf? Does it have something to do with transfer windows? Also, he is still 15% owned by agent.
Cougar2010
The league you are in doesn't allow agent ownership therefore you needed to buy the 15% from the agent. The Slovak Super Liga seemingly does allow agent ownership therefore they could proceed with the contract offer.

Well, this doesn't explain at all why can't I sign him and buy 15% from the agent.
mchbitil
Well, I modified his contract with Slovan to end on June 30, and I was able to sign a contract with him directly with $0 transfer fee, even though he is still co-owned by agent. michaeltmurrayuk
Pretty sure Bosman transfers only apply to players who are at clubs inside the EU, as he's at a Brazilian that is likely why you cannot approach to sign him.

Why then Slovan could sign him for $0?
