Jyuken
Currently i'm playing on a phenom II 940 with 4 gb mem, but its processing time is starting to annoy me whilst playing FM so i decided to upgrade it. Whilst i would ideally select ALL the countries and have a large database i do realise its going to be slow no matter what. What processor should i go for? i7-4790k, i5-4690k or perhaps even an i5-4460, What memory should i go for? 8gb or maybe even 16gb? I know the i7 config will cost about 200€ more but i would easily pay for it if its a noticable increase. (i've tried searching the forums but couldnt find a direct answer to this)
carmeloanthony015
If you switch to Intel(good idea) you need to change your motherboard too. About memory: if you don't have tons of running program 8GB are surely enough(FM rarely takes more than 1GB)
Xavessi
I have a newish i7 and an i5 and there is a difference, but probably not enough to justify the cost. fm is 32bit so can't use more than 4gb of ram, so unless you are planning on doing video editing it won't be worth your while buying any more than 8gb ram. Jyuken
So the difference between an i7 4970k and i5-4690k is quite big?
marcins175
How many can I load on i5 4460? 4gb ram is enough or 8gb is really better?
