podunkboy
Shortest career in history for Saddam everyone started out with the same CA of 100, but with 18 of his points in Aggression, it didn't look good for long-term success. He can't even get a sniff from the Iraqi juniors team.
Wavelberry
Steady work from the two playwrights. It'll be very interesting to see who has the better career. I thought maybe Sam because of his earlier move but Stan's slow growth in Moscow might win out. Poor Saddam though.

podunkboy
Hope to get some more updates up tonight - I was heavily into my Gundo's European Adventure Challenge save over the weekend and thought of little else. (No spoilers, no bragging, but I ran those boys to the top of the table my first season and clinched on the last game. Now the big question, how badly will the board want to stay up...) So anyway, I'll try to get some more updates tonight.

podunkboy
David goes professional... and almost immediately becomes a valuable commodity... Isaac Newton makes his senior debut with Watford Bevan's on FIRE with Sunderland Stanislavski's out on loan again. John Stewart Mill out for 7 weeks with bad knee...but that'll be the least of his problems soon (ominous music...) Sheik Rahman goes professional for Blackpool. Will add more tomorrow, Steam didn't upload all my pics, evidently.

leonavich
Another serious injury... Not good. Doesn't seem like any player has really broken through yet, but there are a few showing some promise.
podunkboy
First off, I almost promise that when I have some time to kill, I'm going to descend into the depths of despairmy basement, put my old desktop together, download FM15 and the editor, and re-do this experiment properly where the players declare for their home nation and they do something other than get injured. (Oh, wait, FM15, of course they'll get injured...) So, here's an update: Decatur finally makes it to PSG, a couple years after actually signing. and is producing well for their U19s. Bevan decides to take a couple months off with a bum knee. DaVinci goes out on loan. Newton is pondering his fate...er, options as he sits on the transfer list. and David breaks a hand, which I can only imagine would be inconvenient for a goalkeeper. podunkboy
Okay, mates - I do have some update screens to post (hopefully tonight after I get to work- I have an hour of downtime to kill)... but question to all assembled: Thanks to the new update, I can now access and navigate around in the FM editor. I was thinking about re-creating the player database in FM 15, tweaking to CA/PAs of the submitted players (and try to get Nietzsche and Mandela back into the mix) to see if we can get more interesting storylines (and maybe fix the problem with players immediately declaring for England no matter where they're from). I'm going to post the updates, let everyone weigh in and if people want a restart/do-over, I'll start entering the information over the weekend.
leonavich
I'm happy for either or. It seems like it's still fairly early in the sign up, so if the consensus is to use FM15, and the workload isn't too heavy on your schedule, sure. But otherwise, FM14 is still providing a good story so far.

podunkboy
May I vote for "fewer screenshots posted directly into the thread"? It makes it take a long time to load here. Well, I've only done that because when I did the "Baker's Dozen" last year there were complaints about having to click on all the links to follow the story. I guess I could "write more story" and just link the pics in support. Really up to everyone which they prefer (I have rather fast broadband at home and work so load times aren't a problem for me.) podunkboy
Okay, All -- I got the editor to work (after deleting a cache file), got everyone input (I hope) and I'm going to run a year-long test of the database to see what happens. If everything goes off okay, I'm going to start a new thread with the new input. I randomly generated the Potential Abilities, I think I've fixed the problem with people turning up British all over the place...we shall see, we shall see... And I'm hopeful that Nietszche, Mandela and all the gang will port over to the save this time.

podunkboy
Sounds great! Can't wait to see Mandela (hopefully). He's...In there. (at least he was in my trial run last night). I did forget to put a position in for David and the game made him a striker, so I had to re-edit him in as a goalkeeper.
podunkboy
ATTENTION ATTENTION - REBOOT OF EXPERIMENT IN PROCESS!!!! We're in FM 2015 now - after deleting a config file in the editor I was able to actually utilize the 2015 editor. All thirteen submitted leaders, dreamers and doers have been acquired and entered into history. All players were given a random (set at zero) Current Ability and a randomized but static Potential Ability in the range of 130 to 180. There are some real potentials in there, if they get the right care and upbringing. Saddam Hussain may not flame out at 19. All players are set at declared for their home nation except those who have dual nationalities. I have sent the database 6 months in and will link up the player attribute pages tonight and get us on our way. Please shout out if you're still following the progress, thanks! podunkboy
Finally got some screenshots saved up: I had been running the simulation at 6 month intervals, but it was deleting everything but the last month, leaving me with little postable content. I think you'll find things have changed around here with the move to FM15. Isaac Newton is Southampton bound: Bevan goes to Aston Villa: Hussain, now at Newcastle Utd, scores a goal (which is a good start compared to the last simulation): and gets a contract upgrade despite his injury history: David signs his first pro contract: and strains his knee for a nice 7-week break: Hussain gets an eight-month vacation with a cruciate tear: John Stuart Mill comes under scrutiny for his performances: and promptly gets himself a double hernia: but draws wayyy too much attention to himself (ends up at Real Madrid): Stanislavski goes on loan to another club I can't spell: Leonardo signs his pro deal with Fiorentina:
podunkboy
Not dead, only resting: watch this space, although I lost the original save, I have been running a long-term save that's currently in 2026 and at the start I loaded in the LDD database. Some of the players are still very active and in their 20's, some of the players however...never made it, retired early and disappeared from the database. I'm taking screen shots and will try to get them uploaded soon.

podunkboy
So, these were the only players who survived into 2026 in the game. Overall, they've had decent careers, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be playing the save, because I got bored of winning everything at Man Utd, resigned my job, and took a job with Inverness CT...and they're not a good team and likely won't become a good team any time in the future, even with my help. And with FM 16 coming out soon, I know I won't be able to resist for long.
