Getting attacking three performing.

I'm looking for anyone who can offer some help or advice with getting my attacking three performing, I'm happy with the way my team plays - a high press, that doesn't leak many goals and dominates the midfield without giving the opposition much space. My only issue is that it just breaks down in the final third where my full backs either elect not to hit early crosses or my attacking three run into dead ends and get isolated.

I can't work out if I'm asking too much of the team in the TIs or of the individuals in PIs or is it a case of Balotelli and Sturridge not being suitable for these roles, between them they have pretty low work rate and teamwork?

In a few of the images Sturridge is playing as a TM - S, I was just experimenting with Lambert in the game before and wouldn't start Sturridge like this.
