Jambo98
I think Rashidi might be on holiday at the moment, but i can link you to a post explaining how to extract data from FM into Excel http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/417573-Development-Match-Experience-And-Everything-In-Between?p=10133763&viewfull=1#post10133763 Beyond that of course, you need to have your spreadsheet set up to deal with the data via macros or conditional formating etc.
kaffekatten
yeah thanks for the answer rashidi! Also what would you recommend training players with low-/semi low bravery? if i have many choices how to train them, or rather where would i avoid training them to? Rashidi
I just don't have players who have low bravery. When I train players I focus on Ball Control, Tactics and their roles. Bravery is one of those stats that will improve our time, but not for everyone. Its one of those hard to raise mental attributes. Personally, I opt usually almost always to filter them out. There are the some exceptions, and these players need to be really good for me to consider them, and these players will never be support or defend players
Rashidi
Rashidi - do you use any tools to extract the data for your spreadsheets, or is it all manually cross-typed? Don't use anything else apart from excel
Serios Sim
Hey, Rashidi I've started to take your aproach to training, but right now I'm having issues with some players complaining about the low match training that the team is doing right now. How do you handle those situations?
Rashidi
Are their individual loads heavy and do you have two coaches for each routine? If yes, then ignore. I usually have some players who are unhappy, these are usually the ones with lower professionalism, and I usually ignore them

Rashidi
Ok this thread will now take a slightly more different direction. The new patch is out, and with it undoubtably some changes. I wasn't too thrilled managing Sporting because its a poor league. Top clubs are hampered by low winnings and their turnover isn't as large, which probably makes them one of the best places to get young talent from. My focus will be still on player development, but now I want to move to another league. I will start up several leagues, England, Germany, Italy, Spain will be the main ones and I will pick one team again, and then go from there. Player training and development will be the focus. The club will start off with a given training philosophy, and then we will post up all tactical lessons into my Football Manager Tactics thread. As always the key information will be detailed back on my blog which will make it easier for anyone who needs more information. For now though the search for a new club begins in earnest. Who am I gonna manage next. England is the hardest challenge imho, Spain and Germany are easy and I have never managed in Italy before.
Jambo98
Italy is a fun place to manage, i would say its easier than Germany or Spain though, given that Juve are the only real top side left in Serie A. Both Milan sides are shadows of themselfs, Napoli a notch off the top table, Roma close but still not brilliant. Depends if you want to start with a top team, or even top division. Big club or small etc. Sassuolo are a nice story and long term save candidate maybe (dont even own their own stadium). Parma a topical reclamation type project. Torino one to return to former glory days? In England i started off a bit of training/youth based save with Crewe, but timed it badly (3 days before a new patch came out!). They are of course a fairly traditional youth type team to manage. Be interesting to see who you go with and see more of your training and development stuff in action

Rashidi
Well my stay in Liverpool lasted like one match, a 4-0 galavanting romp over Southamption at St Mary's convinced me that I was going to get bored really fast...so I went to ... WEST BROM! The storied history of the club grabbed my interest, plus the challenge. It was them or QPR, West Brom won out, only just. So what were the first few things I did when I joined the club? 1. Backroom Whats the club offering me? - 9 coaches, thats pathetic, but understandable, so we need to work with what we have, till we start performing. So its going to be a challenge. The club doesn't start out with 9 coaches. So we started looking for more coaches, added 2 more, but still the best I could do was 3 stars in some categories. I did the same with the u18s and the u21s. 2. Analyse their DNA I can't think of a better term than this, so I am pinching it from someone else who used it earlier. I value ball control, tactics above all else in training. First touch and composure being the main attributes. And since beggars can't be choosers its time to take a long hard look at this side. They aren't that bad, but still a ways off for a premiership side. 12 being the main for the group at large, so we'll need to work on that in training. Decent amount of pace and acceleration, we still want to work on first touch and composure to get that up. Looking at my U21s makes for depressing reading. There's one attribute that took my attention almost immediately, and it wasn't first touch. composure, it was bravery. Its sorely lacking in quite a few boys. Anyone less than 10 will be shipped out. Bravery is something we need cos our system will require players to give their all for 90 minutes. So the next thing i do is move one or two potential "stars' to the U21 from the U19s, and I will monitor them there. I have taken a note of who will be starting for us, and I plan to use a 442 system coupled with at least the 4312 or the 4132. The plan is to develop a side that can play in multiple positions of a 442. The adventure beings anew, lets bring it on.
mattgranger
On 1/16/2015 at 03:09, Rashidi said: 2. Set up Filters Can't stress how important this is going to be for the whole season. Filters will need to be set up for me to be able to quickly assess whether players are suited to the roles they are going to play. The heaviest positions appear to be the central midfield area and this will be an important area Once the filters are firmed up I will update my blog with a section where it details what the filters were and how players were chosen Filter 1 Midfielders Support/Defend Age, Stamina, Workrate, Positioning, Tackling, Pace, Passing, Determination. These will be my primary attributes and I will expand or reduce them but I need to set this up so I can pick players. Age is included since I want to focus on development Filter 2 Midfielders/Strikers Age, Creativity, Pace, Off the Ball, Passing, Crossing, Finishing, Composure, Primary attributes these will be fine tuned later. Filter 3 Defenders Age, Stamina, Positioning, Anticipation, Tackling, Jumping, Heading, Passing Hi Rashidi, are you still using these Filters in FM17? If so do you have any advice or tips on how to set them up?
Kelvinu
Hi Rashidi, Sorry for bringing up this old thread to life. Your youth strategy is interesting at the point that you put your youngsters to learn PPMs by 17 - I thought that I read somewhere that the best training a youngster could have is by 20, then this should mean that the time spent on learning PPMs is a waste - I guess this is false? Also, if someone has a PPM of "move into channels", or "play through balls" will it actively increase his off the ball or passing ratings because he will more often do it in the pitch and by trial and error?
