podunkboy
Backerman just can't seem to motivate the boys anymore, the days of continental play appear to be behind him...sigh. If he had only got that Continental Pro license...he could have been someone.
Charlesbeams
End of Season 2058/59 Staff Erik Bäckermann - Almost an identical season to last, finishing in 14th place. Is on his 8th attempt at continental licence. (thought it was loads more) Lawrence Lazewski - Was sacked as manager of Portland after finishing 15th in the overall table. Now looking for a new club. Relegated Staff Antoine Clemont - Still looking for a new club. Zachary Eldinho - Was sacked by Degerfors after winning just 1 game in 10 at the start of the season. Linked with a few Swedish clubs. Junior - Manager Stats - Was relegated(not counted) in the Euro Nations League, but had a tough group. Currently trying to qualify for Euro 2060. Steven Kemp - Still looking for a new club. Chris Small - Pretty good season avoiding relegation in 10th place. Last year he won the Scottish Challenge Cup as well which i forgot about. Charlesbeams
End of Season 2059/60 Staff Erik Bäckermann - Was sacked by Sassuolo in November but is now back in work at the end of the season with Inter, who finished 7th in the league. Lawrence Lazewski - Still looking for a new club. Relegated Staff Antoine Clemont - Still looking for a new club, most likely going to retire next time. Zachary Eldinho - Took over at Hogaborg and finished 9th in the Swedish First Division South. Currently in 13th place. Junior - Manager Stats - Junior has helped Wales qualify for the European Championships, they have a tough group with France, Italy and Russia. Also noticed that the Relegation from Euro Nations League did count on his "achievements". Steven Kemp - Waited until the end of the season to take over at Pistoiese in Serie C/B, they finished 12th. Chris Small - Shocking scenes as Chris is sacked after winning the League and Scottish Cup with Dumbarton, but also got relegated. Charlesbeams
Wales failed to get out of the Euro 2060 group, losing all 3 games.
podunkboy
I've never realized how coaching attributes can drop off - From 2040 to 2060 Backerman's Attack coaching has dropped from 13 to 8, Man Mgt from 12 to 8, Mental from 11 to 7, Tactical from 13 to 9, Technical from 16 to 12, Determination from 11 to 6, JCA 10 to 6, JPA from 9 to 6, Motivation from 9 to 1, and Tactical Knowledge from 12 to 7. NOTHING's gone up, evidently Backerman's slowly deteriorating, no wonder his results have dropped off.
swooperproop
Can Antoine please retire? He's already, like, the worst, so I don't want him to be even MORE humiliated
Charlesbeams
End of Season 2060/61 Staff Erik Bäckermann - What a season, Inter go 18 years without a title and Erik wins the first in that time. It was won on the last day of the season as well. Lawrence Lazewski - Having not found a job for some time, he's decided to retire from football. Unrelegated. Relegated Staff Antoine Clemont - Didn't retire, but decided to head back to Scotland where he took over at Morton in League One. Morton finished 8th in the league. Zachary Eldinho - Sacked by Hogaborg and is now looking for a new club. Junior - Manager Stats - Euros didn't go well, but he then took wales back into Division A in the Euro Nations League. Steven Kemp - Not too bad and is a push on last season, finishing in 8th place. Play-offs next season? Chris Small - Joined Hartlepool at Christmas, but unfortunately couldn't help them stay in League One and it's relegation number 4. Retired Fully El Mantis El Ticuito Gins Christopher Hatton Lawrence Lazewski Aboubakari Mensah Bambang Pinheiro Lewis Walsh League Tables English League One Scottish League One Serie A Serie C/B So if Erik can survive until he retires, he will be the winner. Charlesbeams
Just had news that Chris Small and Erik Backermann will both retire at the end of the season. So unless by some miracle Backermann gets relegated, he is the overall winner.
podunkboy
Wow, the old gray fox had one more title in the tank...(don't really know if Backerman went gray or bald, hoping he kept that wonderful hair...)
Charlesbeams
End of Season 2061/62 Staff Erik Bäckermann - His last season didn't quite go as planned as he finished in 14th place and was sacked, did win the Italian Super Cup though. Retired with no relegations and is the overall winner. Relegated Staff Antoine Clemont - Left Morton and took a chance with Bristol Rovers in League One and finished in 10th place. Zachary Eldinho - Still looking for a new club. Junior - Halfway through the season he decided it was time to retire from football. Steven Kemp - Decided to leave Pistoiese and return to former club Gubbio, who are in the same division. Gubbio finished in 6th while Pistoiese finished 8th. Chris Small - Took Hartlepool to the play-offs in League Two, but couldn't end his Footballing career with a promotion. Retired Fully Erik Bäckermann El Mantis El Ticuito Gins Christopher Hatton Junior Lawrence Lazewski Aboubakari Mensah Bambang Pinheiro Chris Small Lewis Walsh League Tables English League OneEnglish League Two Serie A Serie C/B Just 3 players remaining now, i reckon it won't be much longer til they retire. Charlesbeams
End of Season 2062/63 Relegated Staff Antoine Clemont- His last season as a manager and he took Bristol to 10th place again. Just to rub it in, Bristol Rovers sacked Clemont the day before he was to retire. Zachary Eldinho - Has decided to go to the lowest level of Swedish football with Vasteras. They finished 3rd last season and are currently 3rd so far this season. Steven Kemp - Not too bad for a final season, just missing out on the play-offs, in 5th place. Retired Fully Erik Bäckermann Antoine Clemont El Mantis El Ticuito Gins Christopher Hatton Junior Steven Kemp Lawrence Lazewski Aboubakari Mensah Bambang Pinheiro Chris Small Lewis Walsh League Tables English League One Serie C/B Swedish Second Division North Svealand So now it's just Zachary Eldinho remaining, i'll keep going until he's retired, i don't think it'll be too long. Charlesbeams
WINNER: Erik Bäckermann So we come to the end of the game and Erik Backermann is the overall winner, having never been relegated and lasting the longest. Lawrence Lazewski came in 2nd place and actually came close to relegation once, but was sacked at the right time. El Mantis finished 3rd having never been relegated as a player. Chris Small and Junior (not including Wales) are equal on 4 relegations each. Was interesting to see how some players were at the top level and then pretty much went into obscurity. Lastly, thanks for everyone who followed the whole way through. I will probably do another for the next game, but no guarantees right now. podunkboy
Yes, thank you for a well-run and completed sign-up (hardly ever happens, and I'm often the worst offender...) Was interesting to observe the fall-off of Backerman's skills at the end of the save, something to keep in mind as my managers age.
