EFP - Gilles Lefty

Hertha BSC Berlin

(5th in German Division 1, 14 points behind Dortmund)

Top Player - Gilles Lefty

Other Top Players

- Julio Alvarez, SC

- Salvador Vera, F RLC

- Marvin Andrews, DC

- Volker Grimminger, D/DM L

Schedule:

Sun 31 Jan - HSV, German First Division

Sat 6 Feb - SC Freiburg, "

Sat 13 Feb - Rostock, "

Sat 20 Feb - Wolfsburg, "

Sat 27 Feb - Werder Bremen, "

---

HSV 3 (Mendes da Silva 8, Donner 75, 90) Hertha BSC (Vera 45, Julio Alvarez, Red 20)

A difficult day for Lefty as his team lost a player in the 20th to a red card. Vera breifly tied the game up for Hertha, but the HSV pressure was too much.

Lefty's only chance of the game came in the 37th but he blazed a shot over the bar.

---

SC Freiburg 1 (Serhat 16, Belik Sent off 25) Hertha BSC 2 (Lefty 34, 44)

Captain Lefty scored twice once Freiburg had been reduced to 10 men to lead his club to a needed win. Lefty was the best player by far on the day, and stopped Frieburg from being able to string any passes together.

His first goal came on a free-kick that bounced off the wall and fell kindly for the player to slot home. His second came after he picked up another loose ball and drove it home for the win.

---

Hertha BSC 2 (Heinz 8, Vera 16) Rostock 0

Not one of Lefty's better performances, but the team player made 13 interceptions to keep Rostock off-balance. The midfielder had a few half-chances in the game, but luckily his scoring touch wasn't needed for his club to get the win.

---

Wolfsburg 1 (Said pen 11) Hertha BSC (Lefty 42)

A decent day from the Hertha captain, scoring the tying goal. Scored from a fine Vera assist in the 42nd as Wolfsburg left him unmarked. Picked up a yellow in the 62nd for a shove.

The player had three consecutive chances to win the game late. In the 67th the player volleyed after good combination play from his team, only for it to go just over the bar. In the 75th Lefty spotted the Wolfsburg keeper off his line only for his attempted lob to sail well off target. In the 80th, another attempted lob was looking like the winning goal but Bim scrambled back just in time to push the ball away.

---

Hertha BSC 2 (Reich 76, Loncaric 86) Werder Bremen 1 (Sokoto 81)

All the scoring was left until late in the game, as Gilles Lefty had a quiet game.

---

Leverkusen 1 (Jandro 29) Schalke 04 0

---

Leverkusen 2 (Pirlo 29, Jandro 68) 1860 Munchen 2 (Altintop 6, Petrov 59)

Not a great day from Greene in this exciting match. The defender had a chance to win it in the 85th but couldn't get enough power on his header to beat the Munchen keeper.

----

Leverkusen 1 (Boateg 9) Union Berlin 1 (Schroder 62, Makela sent off 78)

Brian Greene was subbed in the 55th minute after contributing little to the game, and making no tackles.

---

M'gladbach 1 Leverkusen 1

---

HSV 0 Leverkusen 1 (Lieman 85)

Greene had a better day at the back protecting his goal as Leverkusen scraped out a narrow win. Captain Diego Placente was named MOM.

Now this is what I call updates icon14.gif

Great twist on the "Create a Player" theme & so exciting, yet frustrating to see other players my age banging them in big time at the big clubs, except for Greeney who appears to be making a career out of slumbering at the back with sporadic bouts of jumping up and down icon_rolleyes.gif

Funny that Toothrot should get yet another big move mid-update.

Thrilled that Germany is seeing the best of Big Pants, who still yearns for a move to a place where sausage occasionally isn't the major part of every meal yak.gif

Hayden Foxe a "top player" \0/ ?

Secondly, keep quiet about that! icon_biggrin.gif The managers seem to think Greene is a vital cog in both the squad of Leverkusen and future World Cup winners Luxembourg! Let's not tell them otherwise!

(I like the EFPs too.

I'm not able to fly through seasons right now like I've done with previous games. My time is kind of tight. I'm thinkin about changing the way I do updates. Maybe more updates like the EFPs and less screenshots during the season. I need to give it a shot and have to see how it works once I get out of this current season. Stay tuned as always though...)

EFPs continued...

Chelsea 2 (Shambles 16, Scholes 71) Wolves (Jobi McAnuff 52)

A fine game from Man-of-the-Match Shambles who continued to show that he can be Chelsea's prime target man. The strike caught a bit of luck in the 16th minute when a centering pass caught the Wolves keeper off guard and drifted into the net.

The striker also set up the winning goal in the 71st by setting up fellow former ManUer Scholes.

---

Paris-SG 0 Reims 1 (Dzodic 75)

Santos L. Halper played okay in this narrow loss for slumping PSG. Made a spectacular tackle on Tiago in the first half to disposses the dangerous threat.

---

Millwall 0 Reading 2 (Osei-Kuffour 35, 53)

A good day from new-signing Raschi as Reading sealed the English 1st Division Championships.

---

Reading 2 (Djuric 74, 83) Gillingham 1 (Armstrong 41)

A decent game from Raschi as his new club continues to perform well.

---

Bordeaux 4 (Juel Hansen 6, Moukoko 21, Dufer 35, Piquionne pen 82) Le Havre 1 (Lucas 73)

Bordeuax found their scoring tough as Juel Hansen was in fine overall form both in the air and with the ball at his feet. He buried one goal in the 6th from a nice Moukoko assist.

---

Dortmund 3 (Samba pen 5, pen 35 Ronaldo 25) M'gladbach (Smith 45, Lembo pen 90)

A good but quiet game for Pants as his club fell to Dortmund. Two early penalties to Dortmund took M'gladbach out of the game.

---

St Etienne 1 (Dahou 8) Monaco 0

Another just okay game from Hiura-Garcia as he club lost narrowly. In his defense Hiura-Garcia did make 8 tackles in defense.

---

Monaco 2 (Hislen 12, Gransart 36) Lorient 3 (Papadopoulos 30, 90 Zamber 40)

Completely average game from Hiura-Garcia as Monaco couldn't hold off Lorient. Subbed in the 61st after only making 1 tackle on the day.

---

Paris SG 0 Nantes 1 (Brown 90)

Paris-SG's title hopes took a blow as the club saw their lead diminish to 0 points in this late loss. Halper came on late in defense, only for the late goal to come before the whistle.

---

Paris-SG 0 Montpellier 2 (Vander 5, N'Zigou 63)

With their league title at risk, PSG found themselves dumped out of the French Cup Semi-final by Montpellier. Halper did not play.

---

Derby 2 (O'Donoghue 10, 15) Reading 2 (Herrera 45, Alvarez og 77)

Raschi continues to perform well for his club although they could only manage a lucky draw in this game. Raschi contributed 7 tackles on the day.

---

Reading 2 (Osei-Kuffour 20, Espinal 36) Burnley 0

An okay game from Raschi, but not really needed to contribute defensively.

---

Monaco 0 Bordeaux 4 (Tchangai 16, Juel Hansen 18, 21 Leroy 24)

Two players having opposite success in recent games. Hiura-Garcia failed to make a tackle or a header in his 55 minutes before being subbed.

Juel Hansen scored twice in the blowout, first on a header in the 18th, while the second came on a nice individual play. The striker picked up a loose Monaco clearance, played a quick one-two with striking partner Leroy, beat a player and then bent a 20-yard strike into the corner.

---

M'gladbach 1 (Diarra 42) SC Freiburg 0

A needed win, as Pants played well on the day. The winger almost got on the board in the 21st as he headed a nice ball at goal only to see Groth parry it out of the way.

---

Schalke 04 2 (Donovan 28, Farias 50, Udeze sent off 28) M'gladbach 0 (Diarra sent off 28)

A difficult game for Lucky Pants, as he was effectively neutralized. Failed to see much of the ball after the early period.

Paris-SG 0 Metz 0

A decent game from Halper in this fun but scoreless game. 4 tackles and two headers for the centre-back in this one.

---

Paris-SG 4 (Reyad 11, Reinaldo 29, 36 Ronaldinho 82) St-Etienne 0

An easy needed win for PSG in a game where Halper was nearly invisible. Made no tackles before being subbed in the 58th minute.

---

Portsmouth 1 (O'Neil 53) Reading 3(Osei-Kuffour 20, Dunfield 75, Normann 83)

A good game from division champions Reading and Raschi. Raschi was on good overall form and even picked up an assist on the day. Had a bright start to the game, showing his cool to intercept an early Portsmouth attack and even came close on goal in the 5th minute.

---

Reading 4 (Espinal 15, 63, 90 Djuric 50) Coventry 1 (Payne 62)

Another good game from Raschi, who has found his form with Reading. Easy win thanks to Espinal's hattrick. Raschi contributed offensively by going on a rare run in the 50th minute and beating Coventry's Cold. He was dispossed by Dalla Bona, but Djuric drilled home the loose ball.

---

Bordeaux 2 (Moukoko pen 28 Juel Hansen 30) Marseille 1 (Chapuis 24, Charbonnier sent off 28)

Juel Hansen was named Man-of-the-Match for another excellent game. Bordeaux showed fine work in the 30th to create Juel Hansen's low shot.

---

Le Havre 1 (Ruster 66) Bordeaux 4 (Liverani 20, 25 Leroy 74 Juel Hansen 90)

Bordeaux whipped up on Le Havre again thanks to a brilliant game fromLiverani, and a typically stellar day from Juel Hansen. The striker finally got on board from a Liverani corner in the 90th to cap his strong performance.

---

Reims 1 (Baga og 34) Monaco 1 (Marty 89)

An above average day from Hiura-Garcia, which unfortunately, isn't saying much. 5 tackles in defense on this late season draw.

---

Monaco 1 (tassali 45 Akwari sent off 52) Montpellier 3 (Adriano 17, 64 N'Zigou 34)

With the Monaco defense having a depressingly bad day, Hiura-Garcia was no exception and was taken off in the 52nd minute.

---

M'gladbach 0 Wolfsburg 0

A dull game whose first half was enlivened by Lucky Pants. His injury robbed the game of the only excitement on the pitch. (As for off the pitch, google the following "Lucky Pants Injury Lady Physio Video XXX")

"Napoli have made signing Georgio George in the summer transfer window a huge priority and have reportedly already offered a record bid of 11.5 million pounds for the Marseille and San Marino striker...."

Link to post

Okay, a couple of game notes:

BvR may have a chance at another European Cup as Roma beat Milan in the semifinal. (BvR didn't play particularily well in either leg.)

Marseille have accepted Napoli's offer for Georgio George.

...

I was going to write a longer post, but let me just sum it up this way:

1) Above EFPs not intended to follow player for more than 4 or 5 games. So if you haven't been mentioned in a while, that is why.

2) I have less time to play, so game will be advancing slower (possibly much slower). I am almost finished with this season, so tables will be posted soon.

3) In the future, expect far fewer 'in-season' screenshots and more game-by-game updates. End of season screenshots will be the same.

Final games of season:

England Premier:

Shambles - Chelsea

[Eltanad Tanis - Crystal Palace]

Game Reports:

Sheff Wednesday 2 Chelsea 1

With Chelsea well clear of relegation after a good April-May run, this loss meant little. Shambles had a decent game and scored Chelsea's goal in 10th by pouncing on his own spilled shot.

---

England First:

Ulrich von Liechtenstein - Millwall

Giuseppi Raschi - Reading

Game Reports:

Gillingham 3 Millwall 2

With nothing to play for, Millwall lost their 3rd straight game. von Liechtenstein had an average day but was not influential.

Reading 1 Wrexham 2

Reading lost out on a chance to break the English 1st Division points record as Wrexham secured a play-off spot. Raschi had an okay game but failed to make much of an impact.

---

French First:

[bap Zamber - Lorient]

[Madcap - Paris-SG]-- Signed 5-year deal.

Santos L. Halper - Paris-SG-- Signed 5-year deal.

Allan Juel Hansen - Bordeaux

Georgio George - Marseille-- Transfer agreed to Napoli, July 1st. 11.5 million. French First Division Player of the Year.

Pablo Hiura-Garcia - Monaco

Game Reports:

Marseille 0 PSG 1

Despite Georgio George playing a MOM performance in his last game for Marseille, PSG did what they had to do and secured the French title. A Jose Mari goal in the 38th was enough to secure the win. Halper did not play in the match.

Niort 0 Bordeaux 1

A good game from Juel Hansen in this end-of-season win. No goals but Monterubbio's, as the Luxembourg striker played target man on the day. Juel Hansen bounced a header of the crossbar in the 14th minute, and had a superb header saved in the 55th.

Monaco 0 Metz 2

Depite this home loss, Monaco escaped the drop. Hiura-Garcia did not play.

---

German First:

[Jon Walker - Rostock]

Brian Greene - Leverkusen

Gilles Lefty - Hertha BSC

Lucky Pants - M'gladbach-- Renewed his contract for 5 years. Relegation Release clause activated at 3.4 million.

Game Reports:

Hertha BSC 1 HSV 0

A narrow win thanks to a Heinz pk, let Hertha BSC and captain Gilles Lefty secure a fantastic 2nd place finish in the league. Lefty took a beautiful half-chance in the 21st that the HSV keeper made an astounding save on.

Schalke 04 1 Leverkusen 0

In a dull game that Leverkusen supporters protested about, Briane Greene did not play.

Bayern 0 M'gladbach 1

Despite this win, M'gladbach's fate was already determined for relegation. Pants did not play.

---

Serie A:

BvR - Roma-- New 5-year deal signed.

Herman Toothrot - Juventus

[Yo Buffro - Juventus]

Maximo Janz - Inter

Game Reports:

Kaiserslautern 0 Roma 0 - Champions Cup Final

Roma wins on penalty kicks 5-6

BvR was named Man-of-the-Match as Roma defended their title. A hard fought contest that favoured the Italians slightly. Roma had an early chance in the 5th minute that Emerson put against the crossbar. Kaiserslautern didn't fold however, and narrowly missed on a Wichniarak shot in the 10th.

A BvR cross in the 14th was nearly put in the net by Totti, but Tremmel kept it out. On the ensuing corner, BvR put a similar header on goal but again Tremmel was well up to the task and pushed it wide. Roma lost their influential midfielder Emerson in the 28th.

BvR tried to contribute defensively and after stealing the ball in Kaiserslautern's half made a quick low shot after seeing the Kaiserslautern keeper cheating off his line. The shot drifted well wide.

The Germans had a fine chance in the 42nd as Wichniarak got loose again, but blazed just over. A 44th minute left-footed BvR shot almost broke the deadlock before half-time, but Tremmel showed why he is considered one of the top German keepers by turning it away.

The game slowed down in the early part of second half, with only an BvR volley coming close. In the 76th Tremmel dove at BvR's feet to prevent a scoring opportunity, and moments later dove spectacularly to deny the striker once again.

In first extra time, neither team could find any chances and in hte second BvR showed his frustration by knocking over Victorino with a shove in the 106th. Just a minute later and another zooming shot from BvR just went over.

At the 120 minute mark a flurry of activity at the Kaiserslautern goal saw a BvR header just saved, but Roma couldn't poke it home.

Nakata scored the opening penalty for Roma and when Kutozov missed the German's first, Totti looked poised to make it 2-1 for the Italians. Unbelievably, he hit the post. It was even up until BvR's turn at the 7th position and after being denied all day he buried his penalty with complete confidence. Having been overshadowed all day by his German counterpart Ivan Pelizzoli made a dramatic save and Roma lifted the cup again.

Juventus 0 Pescara 0

Pescara held off the hard-pressing Turin side in a lazy draw.

Piacenza 1 Inter 1

Relegated Piacenza beat un-impressive Inter in a meaningless match.

---

Other:

Rikjard Den Rooster - Standard Leige

[Jesus Jarman - Celtic]

---

National Teams:

San Marino

Malta

Faroe Islands

Luxembourg

Drawn into Group A of World Cup with holders Argentina, Kuwait, and USA. Rikjard Den Rooster and Briane Greene inexplicably left out of World Cup squad.

Argentina 4 Luxembourg 0

Argentina overran the outclassed minnows as Aimar was unstoppable. Captain Juel Hansen had a decent game despite poor service. Pants picked up an injury in the 83rd which will see his World Cup come to an early end.

Luxembourg 0 USA 3

With USA needing to recover from their dreadful loss to Kuwait, Luxembourg was under the gun from the opening minutes. 2 goals in 11 minutes will probably send the European side packing. Both Lefty and Juel Hansen played well in another game in which their teammates were well overmatched.

MOM again and the deciding goal in the 45th for Juel Hansen. Better from Bordeaux this game and Juel Hansen's goal came after several close attempts at net.

Dnepr-Transmash 0 Bordeaux 4 3rd Round Inter-Toto First Leg

Juel Hansen virtually assured his clubs progressing in this whitewashing of the Bulgarians. An easy hattrick for the striker in a game that saw the Bulgarians go a man done to a side clicking on offense.

Bordeaux 2 Dnepr-Transmash 0 3rd Round Inter-Toto Second Leg

Juel Hansen scored in the 2nd minute and Bordeaux cruised comfortably into the next round.

Paris-SG 2 Montpelier 0 Champions Trophy

Bordeaux 4 Stabaek 1 Inter-Toto Semi-final Second Leg

2 more goals for MOM Juel Hansen in another easy win.

Le Mans 2 Bordeaux 0 French 1st Division

Despite Bordeaux and Juel Hansen playing well, an own goal and a Pascal Bouquet goal for Le Mans was enough to send Bordeaux to defeat.

Niort 0 Paris-SG 3

An easy win as Halper came on late as a substitute.

Troyes 0 Monaco 1

An away win for Monaco as Hiura-Garcia again failed to perform up to standard.

Gyor 1 Bordeaux 1 Inter-Toto Final First Leg

Juel Hansen scored on a header in the 2nd minute for a potentially vital away goal. Bordeaux were outplayed for the rest of the match as the Hungarians fought their way back into the match.

Madcap was on fine form for PSG and Halper and the rest of the squad contributed well in another easy win.

Monaco 0 Montpelier 1

Hiura-Garcia heard more boos as he and Monaco's struggle continues.

Bordeaux couldn't capitilize on being a man up in the second half in this draw.

Montpelier 2 Bordeaux 0

Despite Juel Hansen playing a blinder, including 7 runs, Bordeaux were easily handled by Montpelier.

Bordeaux 0 Gyor 2

A dissappointing end to Bordeaux's UEFA Cup hopes in this defeat that was the last for the Bordeaux manager.

Gilles Lefty and Alvarez were too much for Rostock scoring a goal a piece for the win. Lefty's 76th minute goal sealed the game with a nice bit of trickery.

VfB Stuttgart 0 St Pauli 1

Lucky Pants was MOM on his debut despite the loss as Stuttgart dominated the match for long periods but couldn't hit the net. Pants clipped the post in the 85th minute as they looked for the equalizer.

(The update I was trying to post was a little too much for me to handle this morning, mainly due to Juel Hansen playing about a trillion games already this season, so the above post is actually only partial of the time frame I was intending to cover: through August 2010.)

French First:

Santos L. Halper - Paris-SG

Allan Juel Hansen - Bordeaux

Pablo Hiura-Garcia - Monaco

[Madcap - Paris-SG]

Guincamp 1 Monaco 2

A better day for Hiura-Garcia as he made 7 tackles in this away win.

PSG 1 Caen 3

First loss of the season came after Chivu took a red in the 23rd (and picked up an injury as he angrily walked off the field).

Monaco 0 Bordeaux 0

Two struggling clubs couldn't get the better of each other as Hiura-Garcia had a better gamein shutting down Juel Hansen.

---

German First:

Brian Greene - Leverkusen

Ahlen 2 Hertha BSC 1

Lefty's club let this one slip away as Ahlen scored twice on counter-attacks.

Braunschweig 0 Leverkusen 3 German Cup 1st Round

Just an average day for Greene in an easy cup win.

Excellent game from Lucky Pants, but against lesser opponents in an easy cup win.

Dusseldorf 1 Hertha BSC 4 German Cup 1st Round

[Yo Buffro - Juventus]

Game Reports:

Cesena 2 Napoli 3

Gergio George scored to tie the game up at 2 in the 43rd before having to leave the game a few minutes into the second half with a bruised thigh. New strike partner Renzo Gioia scored late to give Napoli their season opening win.
