Faroes 4 stars of Walker, BvR, UvL and Jarman almost carried their country to a shocking win over Spain. But the European giants fought back well and forced the islanders to settle for a draw. Besides Faroe's stars, none of the other their side played well. BvR scored his first on a trademark volley. UvL slalomed through the Spain back four for a great individual goal. BvR scored his second with a pass turned shot that snuck into the net. The superstar then quickly took a freekick late in the game to find Jarman streaking unmarked for the tying goal.

BvR showing why he is Roma captain scoring three braces and winning MOM in three good wins. His Palermo performance was particularly impressive showing his accuracy from deadballs with a 20-yard strike and with a goal that showed his incredible first touch, which lost his marker, and a quick shot that ende Palermo's hopes. Another brace followed after the good UEFA Cup win over Arsenal, with BvR scoring with two headers. Roma's goalkeeper cost them the game against Juventus as he had another outbreak of dropsies, and the BvR was clearly not pleased with his club's 7th place position as he turned in a relatively poor game against Lazio.

Coming off his horrible game against Valencia just prior to this series, Lefty still looked out of sorts for most of April. His performances were not really up to the level needed by Barcelona as they tried to push for the Spanish League Title. The midfielder seemed to come to life a bit in the win over Deportivo, picking up a poor clearance and driving it home to tie up the game. Finally for the game against Rayo he showed his quality with a MOM performance. He set up the opener with an excellent pass picking out the run of Redin. He then smashed home the 2nd goal after a nice team move that he had started. With two games to go and the title not decided between Salamanca and Barcelona, the loss on May 11th looked to be the end of Lefty's hopes of a Spanish title. His club was easily beaten. With Salamanca playing at Atletico, Barcelona only could hope. A Garcia goal in the 26th was enough for the side, and despite being reduced to 10 men, they held on for the win. Salamanca could only get a draw in their game and Lefty's club secured the title.

Another classic solo goal for Toothrot in the win over Palermo was enough for the player to win MOM in that match. He then set up the winner against Bologna with a nice run. Otherwise the player wasn't overly impressive. He picked up a loose ball and scored to secure a win over Milan to advance to the Champions Cup Final. The winger didn't factor in either game against Fiorentina or Milan, and was positively shackled by Lazio in the final, making no contribution and being subbed at the 60 minute mark.

With Roma starting to outplay Madrid, BvR peppered the net with shots only to see them well saved by Casillas. His striker partner Gallina picked up a long ball from Cuco late in the game, and unleashed a winning shot for the Cup.

Hiura-Garcia can't really be blamed for St Etienne's poor season as his performances through this stretch were of a high quality.
