OK, I will icon_razz.gif

Not much success for the international sides yet, though it would be a surprise if any of the minnows would make it to either the World Cup or the European Championships with just a handful of good players. Well, even stranger things have happened...

What follows is a letter included in the files of Mattimosi Janz, dated December 2003:

"Dear Mr. Janz,

This letter is in response to your letter of inquiry, dated August 2003, for a scouting position for Manager of Football Organization-2004 (MoFO-04). Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you any position as all of our scouts are volunteers.

While we understand that the extra funds would help you pay your debts, and we understand that Novalja can be expensive, especially during the tourist season, and if one enjoys, shall we say, 'night-time' activies, there is no possibility of us paying you any such sum as you had suggested in your letter.

In addition, while we appreciate your notice and concern that we had left several 'rising stars' out of our database for MoFO-03, we really can't appreciate your claims for having 'discovered' your so-called '24'. We must point out that since none of those players plays under your management, it is hard to believe that you deserve any such credit.

That being said, out of curiousity we have passed on the names you gave us for checking up by the volunteer scouts in the regions. In fact, one of the reasons for the delay of our response was that we not only found the players you mentioned, but have added them to our database.

We felt you might be interested to see how our software programs rank 'your' 24, so we attach the results of MoFOScout here for your enjoyment. The rankings are based on our own calculations based on scouting results, and are given as a percentage score out of 100% for the respective position. While the comparisons across positions are not perfect, we do feel this gives a somewhat accurate representation of which players are best developed.

Sincerely,

M____ "Darth" V_____

MoFO Games

P.S. We also would like to congratulate you on last seasons promotion to the Croation First Division. Since MoFO-04 includes this division, you can expect to see yourself in our game as well. Although you have not had the best of success to begin this season, just remember that based on previous seasons Novalja only needs to earn about 21 points to maintain it's league position until next year. Best of luck!

Great work Jenners. Lovng the concept and the story development icon14.gif

Good to see Lucky Pants improving, even if he still couldn't score in a brothel with Brad Pitt's face and a £50 note tied round his family allowance.

No doubt this improvement was the only bright spot as Braunschweig (trans. "brown sh1te") were relegated from German division 2 \0/

*Wants to move to a bigger club - but that isn't saying much*

What the **ck has happened? Lefty's attributes and stats have suddenly gone through the roof (well almost icon_smile.gif ) in just one season and he now looks like a quality player.

BTW how can Lefty play 32 league matches when there are only 30 rounds in the Croatian league icon_eek.gif

Still enjoying this as usual, keep it up attjen

Editor's Note: Having avoided relegation from the Croatian First Division, Novalja manager Mattimosi Janz was rumoured to have gone on a several week drinking binge that culminated in his missing the final game fo the season. (A game won by Novlaja against runners-up Slaven Belupo in shocking fashion.) While this rumour rings true, it has not been proven.

Novalja found themselves slipping further into debt, caused by overpaying underperforming players, and few funds were forthcoming. Novalja owners seem to be banking on a sudden 'influx of funds' which some knowing football funds say can be traced back to a profitable money-laundering scheme. But the less said about that the better.

At any rate, Mattimosi Janz clearly was relying on signing out-of-contract players and was in greats hopes of poaching one or two of his 'finds' in the 2004 to 2005 season as almost all of their contracts would be expiring. Otherwise it was clear that Novalja would have to try and make their way into European competition by some method or the banks would be calling in full force.

News clippings from Janz' files, season 2004 to 2005:

"Union Berlin will be very pleased with the early season form shown by defender Brian Greene, who despite picking up a yellow, still managed to score the winning goal without neglecting his defensive duties, and naturally win man-of-the-match..."

"... having found their way in the German 2nd Division for this season, Lubeck fans will be probably be found in a celebratory drunken stupor after a 3-0 win over Dusseldorf. By the time Janz 73rd minute strike sealed the victory, pubs of Lubeck were said to be scenes of almost Roman debauchery..."

"... the result could have been far worse had Bap Zamber, young striker for Lorient, hadn't knocked in two for his side...."

"...Nimes, led by San Marino's Madcap, won 2-0 over Clermont. The midfielder sealed the game with a marauding run in the 61st minute sealed with a furious strike into the net..."

"...Zamber made it 3-0 with a solo run in the 66th minute..."

"German 2nd Division Player of the Month - Maximo Janz"

"International Results...
