Pibe
One of my players asked for a higher wage to match another highly-paid player's wage and I agreed. However, when I tried to offer him a new contract his agent said my team is not good enough for the player's ambitions. I told the player to fire his agent, which he did. His new agent does the same thing. This is extremely frustrating because the player is getting mad at me for not completing my promise. How can I fix this? Cougar2010
You can't in short, its just a confliction between two areas. Whilst in your squad he recognises he should be matching the pay of his teammates but when it comes to discussing a contract he simply isn't interested in signing another deal with your team. Pibe
Ah well, that sucks. This is out of nowhere because he has shown no interest in leaving, and just recently signed a new contract for 3 years.
samdiatmh
that's why he's not interested then, he's just signed a new contract
nickdc
If the first agent had a poor relationship with you, then one way round that (and I don't like to get 'round' anything in FM) is to look on his player roster and make bids for his players and maxing out the agent fees. Even though you will cancel the transfer, the more contract deals you agree, the more his respect for you rises and will be more willing to open up negotiations on your own player. Gyoza Gombastique
I'd say this is a bug and not just a conflict, because it's happened in the lower leagues with me, where players have no agents and represent themselves. Player asks to speak to me because I offer his teammate a new contract and he wants a raise. I tell him I'll start negotiations immediately. I open the contract offer window and the same player says "I don't want to sign a contract with your club." So I can't do anything, and one week later, he stirs up dissension among his teammates and they call a team meeting with me because they're disappointed that I would go back on my promise to offer him a contract. I had no choice but to release him on a free.

Its not a bug as such because the coding is working as intended. However it is an area where improvement can be made to give the user a more realistic experience.
