jimmyt86
Generally speaking you should be able to buy players from relegated clubs at a lower price than if they had stayed in their league. Has anyone seen a time in the game when this seems to kick in? I would have thought once the end of season break is in motion but it seems not to be the case. Should I wait until the fixtures come out and the teams are shown as a championship club?
samdiatmh
Values seem to change as soon as the event happens, then it works it's way back to it's pre-event value I've seen players that seek it as soon as the relegation is confirmed (the last day of the season) - but that was for a big club [Liverpool in the 4th season on FM14 - Suarez, Coutinho, Allen, Sturridge, Balotelli and more left them (all for under 20m - I picked up Suarez for 12.5)] I've seen players that aren't fussed either, with it being as difficult as it normally is - QPR getting relegated, as they do IRL but then I've also had it work in my favour, winning a CL and selling my 3rd choice DC for 46m (made a couple of days after winning the event) in short - pounce quick! but remember that it also depends on the club (values won't change too much if they were expected to be relegated)
jimmyt86
west ham have been relegated and Cresswell has said he wants to leave. I declared interest, put in a shockingly low bid, which unsurprisingly was rejected but it made him question the boss as he had stated he could leave. Valued at 8.5 but they keep wanting 12-13 for him! Same with Trippier at Burnley

ManUTactician247
James Chester IRL just signed for West Brom from Hull for £8m, teams getting relegated are under less pressure to sell than they used to be.
awulfclark
As Hunt3r said, patience helps. Often players on relegated teams will become unhappy and want to move on. Barring that, you can look for players who are on relatively high wages that don't have relegation salary drop clauses in their contracts--a team might be more likely to sell to get the wages off their books. Also, you might look for those clubs who have been out of the PL for a couple seasons and maybe try to poach some of those players. If a team "thinks" it will get right back to the PL, they will probably be less inclined to sell their stars, but once the parachute payments run out, the pressure to sell will increase. Hint: Sunderland seems to fall down the leagues rather drastically in many FM saves.
