Disclaimer

So, after seeing a couple of other Gibraltar saves, especially Jimbo Kav's save with the Red Imps, I figured I'd give it a shot and see how far I can get with Olympique '13.

Short Term Goals (3-5 years)

Promote to the Premiership. Achieved in 2014-2015

Qualify for Europe.

Win the Premiership.

Have an academy player be selected for the Gibraltar NT.

Have an academy player score for the Gibraltar NT.

Have an academy player lead scorer in the league.

Have an academy player play over 50 games for the club.

Long Term Goals

Become the #1 coach in Gibraltar.

Make the group stage of a European Club Tournament.

Have an academy player acquire 50 caps for the Gibraltar NT.

(I'll add to these as I come up with more)

But you'll need to sign some players...

To kickstart the game, I will indeed need to sign some players - however my catch is that to do so, I'll sign only homegrown players. After season 2014-2015, I will only promote academy players.

2014-2015

Gibraltrian Second Division

Olympique '13

Final Table

Wow, what can I say. Not a perfect season, but a dominant end to one. Despite not securing promotion till the penultimate day of the season, Olympique never looked like they were not going up one way or the other. 28 goals in 27 games in all competitions by Kyle Parody only served to add to the domination in the end. Interesting to note as well as College Europa went down, it has counted 'Pegasus' as relegating as well, seemingly because they are the same club!

As you can see form the form above, Olympique '13 were simply irresistable in the final few games, which saw us run away with the league. Of course, this is off the back of prodigious forward Kyle Parody, and we'll definitely need him to score for us in the next season if we stand any chance of staying up.

Rock Cup - Knocked out in First Round

mlEUdnI.png

A bit disappointed here, as in other people's games, the Rock Cup has provided a source of income for their clubs. I got rats from this competition after a tactical indiscretion saw me blow this game against Leo FC. Could have gone on to win the damned thing!

Second Division League Cup - Champions

A strong run off the back of a few key players and we easily won this competition to do the double in my first year. Pretty pleased, although we won't be able to defend this title after our promotion.

2014-15 Playing Squad

6/23 Players from Academy

Oops, didn't properly cut out Juanlu in the second image! As you can see, we relied HEAVILY on our signings this year to get us promoted rather than the six youth pulls that I promoted. Only Juanlu saw game time, 10 matches in total, as he was a youth pull from the pre-existing youth players at the start of the season. For some reason the youth players that come in, arrive around January. It's a bit strange.

Youth Watch

Juanlu (20 yo, DC) - 10 games, 0 goals

Juanlu got some game time early on in the merit that I wanted to at least blood some new talent into the lineup. Could see some more game time as I try to wean out the older players in the squad this season.

Absolutely stoked with the Manager of the Year nod, but also that Parody cleaned up in the awards process as well. One for the pool room boys!

Pre-season News

Well that makes our job a little bit more difficult doesn't it? Not only do I have to juggle blooding in youth for this season, but I also have to contract the backbone of our squad! Also the tax bill is a wee bit nasty too!

2015-2016

Gibraltrian Premiership

Olympique '13

Final Table

*Groan* Nothing, absolutely nothing went our way this year. Parody got injured with the national team and never hit full gear and our kids aren't just ready to make the step up. I blame the schools (kidding). I actually thought our 5-0 win over Britannia XI would have secured us a playoff berth, and I went to watch them play off in their final game against Glacis United. All they had to do was lose to Glacis for us to lock it in, but alas we were automatically relegated when they drew 2-2. Absolutely gutwrenching after such a killer performance vs St. Josephs.

First Division - 8th (Relegated)

iBfghOp.png

There you have it, our absolutely bollocks end to the season. Three straight one goal losses are what killed us in the end of our last five matches. Finding out we have a lethal 4-3-3 lineup against St. Joseph's though really showed us that we could bounce back up though.

Rock Cup - Knocked out in Quarter Final

mlEUdnI.png

They couldn't get the job done for us against Britannia but they could sure knock us out of the cup. Not much moneys headed our way!

Second Division League Cup - Champions

Ck0Su7c.png

Here's the perculiar thing, it seems that whatever competition you qualified for the previous year, you play in their cup. So again I was forced to defend my Second Division League cup, which I did quite easily. Very surprising though. This year I qualify for the Prem Division cup. Strange.

2015-16 Playing Squad

10/24 Players from Academy

H4Vdlgc.png

JQsQyug.png

Four more players earnt a ticket to the first team at Olympique this year under my gradual transition from my starting team to my fully home grown line up. I'm aiming around 2017-18 to have a fully Olympique grown team, once again playing in the Premiership.

Youth Watch

22. Chris Adams (16 yo, D RC) - 9 games, 1 goals

Pulled from the academy mid-season, Adams came into the squad and added some defensive resoluteness, coming with the highest of recommendations from our Youth Coach Alecio.

24. Gary Hunt (16 yo, D RC) - 4 games, 0 goals

Hunt was like Adams, a 2015-16 youth pull and acted as a strong utility towards the backend of the season, providing much needed cover.

5. Jack Doughty (16 yo, M C) - 1 games, 0 goals

Played only the first game of the season as a returnee from last season, and despite laying on an assist, could not find himself breaking into the first team.

21. Jose Antonio Perez (16 yo, M C/ AM C) - 2 games, 1 goals

Played 2 games in the Cup, scoring a vital goal, but did not see any Premiership action in a competitive midfield.

13. Andy Hogan (17 yo, M C/AM RLC) - 1 games, 1 goals

Our midfield has been tightly contested this year, and as a youth pull from last year, Andy Hogan found himself struggling to get into the team. Despite scoring on debut, he found himself on the bench more often than not.

17. Wayne Sawyer (17 yo, AM C, ST C) - 2 games, 0 goals

Returning from the 2014-15 season, Sawyer made a start in midfield before coming off the bench in the league in his only other appearance.

Interestingly...

RyEu8H9.png

Obviously still being on an amateur contract means that I am getting job offers left right and centre, including from the Championship in England! Obviously I don't want to leave, but I am open, should I be sacked by Olympique to continue my good work at another top-level Gibraltarian club. Funnily enough, I've been offered something like 5 jobs from Premiership clubs alone! But I'll still with Olympique.
