Kalemlyco
It's possible if they want to keep you on and attempt another round of negotiations. I've not had it happen to me so I don't know for definite.
HUNT3R
You can always make a board request to be offered a new contract if you're getting anxious about it towards the end of the season.
eximius-vir
My contact came to an end at start of this season and throughout last season the board offered me a contract at least 5 times and negotiations broke down because I wanted a new stadium built. They just kept coming back with new offers and I ended up having to sign a new contract without a stadium as they wouldn't budge.
PogoMarimo
I had taken Boston Utd to promotion in my first year at the helm, and when negotiations came around they wanted to sign me on at half the price. Obviously I wasn't going to be taken for a chump so I demanded a 20% raise on my old contract and the negotiations broke down pretty quickly. Two months later I requested a new contract from the board and, lo and behold, they started out negotiations at my old contract. I ended up with a 12.5% raise (Less than I should be getting, but I had too much pride for my players to turn it down) and a chance at to battle out of relegation in a new conference. thomit
The dilemma with your own contract is that having a low wage will obviously leave more money for the club to spend on more important things, but having a high wage will make it more difficult (costly) for the club to get rid of you, hopefully making them think twice if you're in a shaky position. I tend to negotiate my wage to the half point of the max wage you can demand, and as many years as they are willing to give me. I don't make any other demands or ultimatums untill I'm in a Alex Ferguson sort of reputation/status within the club, if neccessary. Untill then I find it quite easy to get what I want by politely asking, as long as it makes good sense.
