iAlwaysWin
ever since i got fm 2015 i thought there was to many offside goals for and against compared to any other fm ive ever played before, but untill now it didnt really break the immersion or realisim untill my striker scored 3 offside goals, then had a quick search on google to see if a player has ever scored 3 offside goals in the one match, could not find anything. MBarbaric
this is rare but happens. just watched a match with 3 offside goals. admittedly, 2 players involved.
mchbitil
Is your striker Inzaghi?
Jakarooney
i agree with you. there are way too many than there realistically is. Playing last night my striker scored 2 offside goals and my other striker also scored 1. The worst thing is that some of the time the decisons are so bad and it can cost you the game. Have you take the time to research real life data & compare it to the FM data?
Jakarooney
No not really but it does seem as though there are a lot more than in real life.
MrPompey
As mentioned you cant really confirm something is "unlife" like unless you have the real life stats. This forum used to get this all the time regarding injuries until people where informed of the website listing a table of teams and players out injured. Not sure sure there is a website for offside goals but who knows
awulfclark
It's worth keeping in mind also, FM is a simulation based on algorithms, statistics, and random elements, among other things. So it's very possible to have those "outlier" saves where odd things happen, and doesn't necessarily mean the game itself is broken. There's also the element of we, as humans, tend to notice outlier events, such as three goals in one match being chalked off for offside. There's also the possibility of having a tactic that would lend itself to offside infractions, and especially if it's not fluid, in other words, your midfield playmakers and your striker don't have that timing down just yet. Overmars
It would be much less annoying if the game waived off offside goals immediately, as they are in real life. Instead, the game shows a false scoreboard overlay and intentionally deceives the game player for too long, in my opinion.
Dagenham_Dave
Yes, because in real life, you never see a player or manager celebrating for ages before realising their 'goal' is offside.
Sejanus
If you don't like the delay then have the player ratings widget open - it will tell you immediately if the goal has been scored as the it will go against the player's name straight away. If the goal is going to be declared offside nothing will come up.

I have been playing an old fm 2014 save recently, but I think it is same in fm2015 (I can't remember) that you can tell from the crowd noise - after a while you recognise the 'cheering to disappointment' sound sample. It is distinctly lower pitched than the genuine goal scored crowd sound. That's how I always know straight away if it is going to be ruled out for offside. HUNT3R
Don't read if you don't want it spoiled: The referee always runs to the same exact spot to blow for offside. He makes it very obvious that it's an offside goal.
samdiatmh
I had never noticed that before Hunter - I just find that the assistant stays put, whereas he'd normally move around a little more noticable on a 2D pitch
