podunkboy
Get a scout report from Holland, the scout has found "one player to recommend": a 17-year-old striker with 1/2 star current ability and 3 1/2 star potential. I click on the full report and under scout summary it says "Not a worthwhile signing"...but under "Pros" it lists "potential to be a world-class striker in the future", "resolute characteristics", "consistent performer", "great speed", "enjoys big matches", "highly professional". And under cons, "Feyenoord is unlikely to want to sell". So, does this scout truly "recommend" the player or not? Obviously he's not going to crack the senior squad at Man Utd with 1/2 star currently, but my DoF signs players with less potential in the Man Utd youth intake. awulfclark
That probably means the scout thinks, for the price (since Feyenoord won't want to sell, the price will be high), that player won't be worth it to you.
mchbitil
It definitely means that "it's not worthwhile signing for crazy price that Feyenoord asks".
podunkboy
Oh, but I've got a solid squad and $221 million in the transfer budget - they can't get crazy enough for me if I wanted him. (The problem with Man U is they keep throwing money at me to spend, but any players I buy just have to go out on loan because there's no place for them in the squad - I have enough players on loan to build two more competitive Premier League squads, or at least promotion-from-the-Championship level...)
