Is there a way to undo a deletion of a player or club without creating a new editor file?

I deleted a club that had bad knock on effects in that the game won't generate fixtures in a particular league, even when I try to add a replacement club to fill the necessary spots. Is there a way to undo this in the editor file I used when I load it?

I have a lot of saved changes and would rather not lose them. For the record I deleted Chivas USA.

There is a way, but it is very complicated and painful to do it.

It involves finding that change in the xml of the file and deleting it.
