Pairs & Combinations Query

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just read the Pairs & Combinations which has really helped me, I struggled with FM15 despite winning stuff in FM14

But just a query, I am playing CM - CM - AM so need a sitter - runner - attacker... what are the other alternatives to BBM being the runner?

Thx

OK cheers Dr Hook... does a DLP on S count or does he not get close enough to the oppositions box?

The DLP is a deep player, so no, he won't get too near the box. He'll creep up somewhat close to the edge of area if you have the ball deep, but he won't be busting forward. The CM(S) will get forward also, but less frequently than with an attack duty.

A roaming playmaker is another option.

No, the roaming playmaker won't get forward like that. He will move about laterally and vertically, true, but he doesn't make the forward runs into the box like Ed is looking for.

my Roaming playmaker does. he ends up camped on the edge of the box and then darts in when and if needed.

That is different from what Ed wanted which is a midfield runner who comes forward from deep. What you have is a player sat at the edge of area looking to play players in. Yes he will move in for a ball, or even take a shot- even a DLP can do this if he gets the ball in space but this is an entirely different role.
