Ronaldo Stats in FM16

Recommended Posts

I was surprised to see the following stats for ronaldo a wayyyyy low

Acceleration - 12 (i find this hard to believe as he posses above avg)

Positioning - 6 (seriously i wonder how he scores his goals, this seriously needs to be improved)

Teamwork - 7 (i'm laughing more than the above, it's the other way around. He carrys the team so did maradona and so does messi)

Work rate 8 - (I am trying to stop laughing, his won european top goalscorer and world player awards so many times)

C'mon guys i believe the above stats are way to low for a super play like ronaldo. You basically have the same acceleartion stats on Bale as well. Gareth Bale is a quicker player than ronaldo these days so how is it they both have identical stats. Also are we talking about with or without the ball as without the ball Bale breezes past Ronaldo. Something to think about.

Acceleration - Ronaldo is fast, but it takes him a bit to get started. 12 seems about right.

Positioning - This is defensive positioning. Off The Ball is what you want to look at for his attacking movement.

Teamwork - Bloke is greedy, always has been. Me me me.

Work Rate - Again, this is about right. Rarely tracks back or does defensive work.

I think you're confusing positioning with off the ball and anticipation.

So because he won world player of the year he works hard on the pitch? I rarely see him track back and defend.

If teamwork is low then that tends to mean the player is quite greedy , like Ronaldo. Not sure if you're trolling or just misinformed

The data issues forums are up for people who wish to discuss data but it helps the discussion when you understand the attributes.

Positioning is primarily a defensive stat, how often and how well do you see Ronaldo getting into defensive positions and lining up well to cut efficiently cut out relatively well played passed and such?

Other attributes (like anticipation) would determine how he reacts to a lazy/poor pass near to him by an opposition player, and off the ball determines how he positions himself when the team is attacking.

Teamwork isn't about the ability to carry the team. It again has its own sphere of influence and in no way impacts on the kind of player Ronaldo is. In some ways you could possibly argue Ronaldos low teamwork is what would enable him to be dropped into almost any team around the world and still standout as the best player in that squad.

Work rate is again not what you're referring to. Ronaldo is reportedly very driven and his success as a footballer has been down to determination to keep pushing himself in training and great professionalism. He's not really like James Milner, Jon Walters etc in that he keeps chasing down lost causes and can be found popping up helping the team out defensively and offensively all over the pitch.

You need to understand attributes.

Acceleration is how quickly a player can reach top speed (pace) from a standing start. It therefore ties in very closely with the Pace attribute.

Pace is a player’s top speed. Whereas Acceleration reflects how quickly a player can attain their top speed, Pace is that top speed and together with Stamina and Natural Fitness, is how long they are able to maintain that pace in both short bursts and over the course of a match. A player will naturally be a shade quicker without the ball than with it.

Positioning is the ability of a player to read a situation and position himself in the best possible position to deal with the unfolding events. Anticipation will help him in the first stage but in terms of his actual positioning, it comes down to this attribute. A higher rating will ensure the player takes up a better position. - Positioning is a defensive attribute.

How well the player follows tactical instructions and works for and alongside his team-mates. A team full of players with a high rating here will work better as a unit. Players with lower ratings will slack off and not ‘buy in’ to the team ethos.

This reflects the player’s mental drive to work hard. A high rating will ensure a player wants to work his socks off from start to finish, but he will need the necessary physical attributes to actually be able to pull it off. Nonetheless, it is an admirable trait to have in your team.

If you want to dispute data, that's fine, but at least know the definitions of the attributes before making incorrect statements.

Secondly, this would be a data issue, so raise it in the Spanish thread in the Data Issues section - but provide supporting evidence for your opinion. Giving only an opinion won't get you anywhere.

Closing this as the discussion doesn't belong here. If you want to discuss attributes, that's fine and create a new thread here, but Ronaldo's ratings is a data issue.
