cyanidhogg
Hey! I'm currently managing Inter. In real life, Stevan Jovetic not only has a buy clause, but it isn't optional. As far as I understand, the buy clause requires Inter to purchase him after his loan ends. Does anyone know if this has been implented in FM16? I'm aware that he has an option to buy, but I can't tell if it is mandatory.
Raniel3
There are no loans with included obligations to buy the player after the loan in the game. You can set a future transfer in the database, though, but it cannot be done in an ongoing game. If Jovetic has no future transfer set, then it is a data error. These mandatory buy clauses are almost exclusively done in Italy, however, for tax reasons or FPP or whatever reason there is for not being able to pay immediately. They are not so much mandatory as they are gentleman's agreements. But yeah, it's a normally done as a way to spread payments over an extra year, or can be used as the paperwork for a loan is quicker to complete than a full transfer - so handy on deadline day. Toothless Gibbon
In FM16 you can cancel the loan, and I did so when managing Inter. He was awful and always injured.
cyanidhogg
He's been amazing for me, so far. A couple of short injuries, but that's to be expected from a fragile flower like him. He's played really well, at a time when Mauro Icardi is playing like absolute arse. He's been key to the team's attack. With that said, thanks for the replies. I'm a lot wiser now than I was a few hours ago.
Toothless Gibbon
How are you playing him, out of interest? Icardi has been nothing short of sensational, 75 goals in less than 2 seasons.
