Jack Edwards
I want to call up some Pacey strikers, Anyone in mind?
Taylor_08
in real life not so sure but on 8.0.2 frank lampard is great and must be included in your starting line up, id pick that tam with lampard not hardgreaves and either bentley or swp, not beckham
BigAir360
Thats what he's done. Hes picked Lampard over hargreaves
Lisandro Lopez
Never heard of Unsure as a goalkeeper GK - Hart or Foster That line up is fine, but what about your subs? Ashton is beast on the game I hope he is on your sub bench I wouldn't really use Beckham tho, he doesn't have the legs imo.
Lisandro Lopez
Defoe is a possible for your pacey striker needs.
theincrediblehulk
GK - Green, Robinson or Carson. My choice would be Green. Pacey ST - Andrew Johnson would probably be your best bet. I'd recommend getting Walcott into the squad but dont start him just yet. Get him on after about 60-65mins and he can create a lot of havoc. Prefer him on the right wing though. Jermaine Defoe is excellent too and pretty quick.
Taylor_08
defoe, bent, johnson, walcott are all pacey but as said above dean ashton is a beast of a striker, but obviously not the quickest, crouch can do a good job working with owen aswell
Jack Edwards
Oki, Thanks. Ashdon tis then, Defoe is in there anyways, I think ill play Joe Hart, With Ben Foster + Green all in the squad

-lewis-16-
call up danny haynes honestly i did it when i was england manager for a laugh and he scored 2 in his first cap hes fast as hell, so he could be the pacey striker your looking for
D-Wight
i always get rid of the big names and bring in the good but not world class players and it makes a quality winning formula: GK: Hart DR: Micah Richards DC: Matthew Upson DC: Steven Taylor DL: Leighton Baines/Wayne Bridge MR: David Bentley MC: Kevin Nolan MC: Gareth Barry ML: Stewart Downing FC: Jermain Defoe FC: Andrew Johnson seriously try it
Nath.
call up 17 yr old joe mattock from leicester, ive got him on my game, he's 20, im still at city, and he's england first choice left back and my vice captain, pure talent.
adamj11
Play Gerrard on the right and play Hargreaves as a holding role alongside Lampards attacking role in the middle. Try and get some of Arsenal's youth to side with england rather than their own countries once they are eligible
Flinty
Play Downing instead of J.Cole because he ***** on him on the game I rekon. And don't play Lampard, he's fat and lazy. And doesn't like playing with Gerrard just because Gerrards a better player and he steals lampards limelight when he's used to being wrapped in cotton wool at Chelsea. I doubt any of this happens in the game but still I don't like him but thats jsut me, rant over lol. I rekon beckham could still do a great job for you, its not all about pace, his technical ability is immense, iv'e never used him but I bet he ges **** loads of assists and his mental attributes are top noch also. Flinty
Sorry for double posting, but whatever you do don't play gerrard on one of the wings, what a waste of arguably the best central midfieldr in the world.
Bluenose 2
My England team would probably be quite similar to yours but a few changes. GK: Paul Robinson (Just not IRL lol) DL: Leighton Baines (Picked ahead of Ashley Cole on my game even though he isnt in my Everton 1st team!) DR: Phil Jagielka DC: John Terry DC: Rio Ferdinand/Jolean Lescott (Depends onthe opposition) MR: SWP/David Beckham/Joe Cole (Depends on the opposition) ML: Stuwart Downing/Joe Cole (Depends onthe opposition) MC: Steven Gerrard MC: Frank Lampard FC: Wayne Rooney FC: Peter Crouch (He is amazing for England IMO) I hope any of these names helps

Bluenose 2
Sorry for double post but forgot to mention 3 other players. After a season or 2, seriously take a look at Jack Hobbs and Jack Rodwell playing at DC (id lean towards Rodwell but thats again my own opinion) A player who is meant to better than Wayne Rooney was at his age is Jose Baxter, give him his debut in a low key friendly
freyno
i went to wembley on wednesday n watched the game if the fm08 is realist hargreaves has to -play amazing
ginger_mourinho
I dispise of Lampard at international level, even in 8.0.2. My England team would probably be: GK: James/Green RB- Richards CB- Terry CB- Terry LB- A. Cole RM: Beckham for the great ball, Lennon/SWP for pace CM- Gerrard, The best English Midfielder bar none CM: Nolan (not because im a Bolton Fan), Hargreaves or Carrick LM- J.Cole or Downing. Once again, depending on the attributes needed. AM- Rooney ST-Crouch I would not even select Lampard in the squad. Imo Nolan is a far better player at international level. SneakyDave
GK: Robinson (Surprisingly good in game), Foster can take the role after his long injury. LB: Cole/Bridge (Nurture Mattock a bit and give a few caps here and there) RB: Richards/Hargreaves (Great at RB) CB: Terry CB: Ferdinand LM: Joe Cole RM: Bentley/SWP CM: Lampard CM: Gerrard CF: Rooney CF: Owen

pooman2279
I played Beckham on the right wing. He was ace, 8 in nearly every game.

The Showstopper
When I managed England, this is the team I played most often: GK: David James DR: Micah Richards DC: John Terry DC: Rio Ferdinand DL: Ashley Cole MR: David Beckham ML: Joe Cole MC: Steven Gerrard MC: Frank Lampard FC: Wayne Rooney FC: Michael Owen I agree that Crouchy is a good player for England on FM'08. Jermaine Defoe is good to bring off the bench too. I also alternated between Becks and David Bentley and brought Owen Hargreaves in for Joe Cole.
backpackant
Ashley Young is a brilliant player on the game. Kept Joe Cole out of my England side. Also, Barry is way better than Hargreaves. As is Reo Coker. On the game, anyway.
adamj11
My advice would be play 3 MCs, 2AMCs and a lone striker so: GK - Robinson DR - Richards DC - Terry DC - Ferdinand DL - Cole MC - Lampard/Carrick MC - Hargeaves MC - Barry AM - Gerrard AM - Young/Cole/Lampard FC - Rooney

Mark Randall from Arsenal is a fantastic AMC. Probably better to forget about him till 2/3 seasons in though.
