OlivierL
Goodmorning, I stopped creating a 3-5-2 because couldn't get it going. I created (almost the same formation like 'Whyme' ) a Asymmetrical 4-4-2 of 4-3-3 . I want pressing, high line , a lot of movement and overlap from central players and if possible possesion. i tested my tactic with Man Utd(my regular game to learn the new FM/features) . First i played a lot of games myself, after that test i did a lot of games on holiday modus with my tactic as preferred tactic. I win everything home (5-0 vs Roma(45 chances) , 4-0 vs Arsenal etc.. and concede almost nothing) but i don't think i won two games away (a lot of 1-1's or losing games and suddenly having no more chances myself). I tried to make a second version of this tactic for away games but it's not working. Please give me advice how i can improve my 'home' tactic ? Tactic: First i used a box to box player and not a central midfielder attack .. i wanted more forward runs from that position but i'm not sure where to put him ? maybe i should put him on MCR (didn't do that because he could run into the space from the inside forward ?) Team instructions : Player instructions: sweeper gk : distrubte to fullback and distribute quickly DL winback attack : no extra instructions DC's : no extra instructions DR fullback support : cross more often , run wide with ball DMC anchor : tackle harder MCL : CM(a) : dribble less, tackle harder, move into channels MCR : DPL : tackle harder, more direct passes AMCL : shadow striker : roam from pos AMR : inside forward (at) : shoot more often SC : CF(s) : shoot more often. Looking forward to some input
herne79
The problem is you are holidaying through games. If you don't watch the games, you can't see where the problems are. If you can't see the problems, you can't tell us and so we can't offer any advice to fix. All anyone can do at the moment is offer subjective views on tactical setup which may or may not help. Go to your Schedule in game, watch some old matches back, see how you are conceding and not scoring. Watch the build up play (not just the final ball in) - see if you can tell why your players were out of position, or why you lost possession, or why you failed to win back possession. Then relate that back to your tactical setup. Perhaps your left flank is too exposed with all the attacking duties players have there. Perhaps your attacking threats aren't finding space and falling over each other. Perhaps players have too much creative freedom. Perhaps none of the above and something else is happening. Perhaps perhaps perhaps - you won't know (and neither will we) until you watch matches I'm afraid.

I don't concede more chances (+- 7/8 every game) when playing away.. the difference with the home games seems now they are going in . I don't create many chances in most of the away games. My left side is idd offensive , I already tried to balance that for the away games... didn't notice any difference
mansfield
All your attacking players are moving into the same space which Rooney is already filling as he is on "Support". As it is more likely you are under more pressure away from home, there could be a lack of an out-ball and when you finally get a half chance it is blocked. How many clear cut chances are you getting home and away?

How many clear cut chances are you getting home and away? I wanted to get my FC drop deep , creating space for the inside forward and SS (and MC) to bomb forward. Should i use another forward role or set-up for this ? Creating clear cut chances is an issue (even home) : Home(+- 2) , away (0 or 1)
HUNT3R
Is Herrera not attacking the exact same space that Zahavi is?
OlivierL
Is Herrera not attacking the exact same space that Zahavi is? most of the time they were, i'l try to put zahavi behind rooney (rooney on dlforward) and put my MCL on a support role with(get further forward and move into channel) ? mansfield
Yeah I would suggest going with an attack striker role to ensure that that Herrera and Zahavi have room to receive the ball and passing options ahead of them. Passing options is what I am most concerned about as its very narrow almost to an extreme degree in my opinion.
herne79
The main problem remains that you are holidaying games. The AI manager will make changes during these holidayed matches that you or I probably wouldn't do. Likewise, the AI won't make changes that you or I perhaps would do. In one of my test saves my AMC player was by far and away my best player all season, but a natural winger (accomplished AMC). If I used the Instant Result button instead of playing a match myself, the AI would substitute him every single match (always at half time), regardless of how well he was playing, in favour of someone who was a natural AMC. Just a silly example, but it demonstrates my point. By the same token, by playing matches yourself you can dynamically make changes as you see issues occurring, whereas the AI may rigidly stick to a system that wasn't working. Try playing a few away matches yourself and see how you get on.

MCL herrera is doing a good job now as Central midfielder support . I have put Zahavi on the AMC (shadow striker) position and deep lying forward role for rooney. Now I see herrera finding more space on the left of rooney and Zahavi or the inside forward are finding space behind rooney when he dropped deep. @Herne79, i agree , holiday is dangerous and u have no control. off course i played many games myself (even one half on 'full time' 3d) . I'll play all my games myself now untill i found the right balance.
