one touch football
Hi I played the demo of FM16 last night and found that it was really killing my Macbook which is new this year. Some of the processing in the game was very jolty but worst of all was that my macbook started whiring uncomfortably loudly which made me want to close the game down. Has anyone else had this and are there any tips for preventing this? Would running FM off a Mac Mini or Steam Console via the macbook screen solve this? ..Valhalla..
What kind of processor does the Mac have? That's the most important part. And also what game setup did you choose?
HUNT3R
Best to report your issue in the Technical Issues/Crashes - Mac section.
TheDentalist
I'm running the game on a MacBook Pro which is 2 years old (top spec at the time) and have had no issues at all with running FM.
jimbo22
I have a mid 2012 MBP and it runs fine on mine. I do have 16gb of RAM in it though. But it only has the i5 processor.

wpmk
Same here dude. Brand new MacBook Pro as well. Report it to the Mac Bugs forum and hopefully SI can investigate and work out the problem.
wpmk
Anybody else getting a "ticking" sound coming from their machine as a result of the overheating? It's like a single click every so often, usually when saving or loading games or during the matchday.
one touch football
Thanks for the replies guys. Of the people who it works fine for on MacBook Pros - do you mean it's almost perfect as in very little over heating and very smooth loading screens? mrdanbartlett
My Windows 7 laptop with i7, 8GB RAM, SSD etc is running FM16 noticeably slower than FM15, just seems a bit slow - not slick when clicking around etc. I run about 10 leagues usually. ryan_aj
Hello, Haven't had any problems with loading (I'm running 5 leagues & a medium database). However, I am having the uncomfortable sounding whirring noise whenever the 3D match engine is running, and the machine is radiating a lot of heat at the back (where I think the fan is located). Not sure why. I also had a freeze during the Trialist's match beginning of the season, but no freezes in Friendly's for which I've been in charge. Don't know if this was caused by overheating or what. Running it on the newest MacBook Pro, mid range spec.

one touch football
Thanks Neil, I will. But can you explain how me submitting my data will help solve my problem? The game is currently unplayable. Will SI release an emergency patch to fix it? What's the likely scenario to solve this? Thanks
borisbachalov
Hi also would like an update from SI on this issue, posted on the bug section but no answer. Thank you
Hansaplast
Has anyone else had this and are there any tips for preventing this? - Try running Steam in offline mode - check in Activity monitor on the CPU tab for processes that are having a high CPU load and kill them( if you double click a process you can kill a process) - don't run a CPU intense task while you are playing - I always play in fullscreen mode
eple
Anybody else getting a "ticking" sound coming from their machine as a result of the overheating? It's like a single click every so often, usually when saving or loading games or during the matchday. That's usually the sound of a hard drive starting to age a bit. Try work your hard drive a bit outside of FM and see if it's happens again, and backup all your important data if it does.
one touch football
Can SI please give us an answer on how they plan to fix the problem? As things stand I can't play the demo so therefore can't buy the full game and it's likely that I won't be able to buy future FMs if this is how intensive they are on macs...
