Marwan595
[/img] Hey guys, I seem to have a problem with my tactics for some reason. The problem is that as you can tell I'm playing with Manchester United yet can't seem to get consistent results. I'm scrapping by games and seem to draw a bunch. I haven't lost heavily yet other than to Barcelona but that's sort of understandable, yet I'm not blowing teams away either. I'm not entirely sure what the issue is but I do feel like it's got to do with my CM-D, BWM-S, AP-A, AF-A. Any suggestions?
RTHerringbone
You'll need to upload those screenshots to am image sharing host like imgur, I think those are just files on your desktop We'd also need to know what the problem is, you haven't given any indication of what the issue might be. davidnio_422
I would say that if you are playing sin such a controlled structured way, with only the one creative player, you will be a bit laboured. The 2 CMs have basic, workmanlike roles. The forward and wide players are attacking minded which means you have no creative players in deeper positions. If you wnat to 'blow teams away' you need that bit of flair, at the expense of defensive solidity perhaps. Out of interest, is that your usual starting XI? Quite interesting, no Mata Memphis etc... What's the thinking?
Marwan595
Oh no just a rotated side, my best 11 would be De Gea-Shaw, Rojo, Smalling, Darmian-Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin-Memphis, Mata, Valencia- Rooney. Based purely on ability.
Overmars
Why the shout "Be More Disciplined?" Your team is set to retain possession with low tempo and working the ball into the box. You should probably urge your team to be more creative or else you'll have real difficulty producing any chances in a low tempo/possession-based system. Cleon
Your midfield central two are an issue, I write about why here; http://sisportscentre.com/the-4-2-3-1-midfield-analysis/
eyalf83
I had the exactly same tactic and TI as the OP, except the 2 CM's. I used CM(d) and DLP(d) and I still was too much vulnerable to counter attack! I played with man utd.
Cleon
I had the exactly same tactic and TI as the OP, except the 2 CM's. I used CM(d) and DLP(d) and I still was too much vulnerable to counter attack!I played with man utd. It's because people normally play on control/attacking and then use lots of attacking roles as well which only increases the risk of counter attacks catching you out. OP - Why all the team instructions? There's no chance on this earth that you understand the impact every single one has on the base tactic you use. It feels like you've used them just because. This is clear because if you did understand you'd never use that many.
eyalf83
I know there is a lot things dependents on... but could you tell me how you'll set 4-2-3-1 roles and TI for balancing tactic? for higher reputation team that will control the match, play slow build up playing and Minimize as its possible counter attack? I just need the basic...to see the logic... usually I use: x2 Fullback on support x2 CD (d) MC(D) DLP(D) AML as IF(S) AMR as winger(A) or AP(A) AMC (A) AF(A) structured , control, lower tempo, width, higher defence line (sometimes normal), short passing, closing down more, play out of defence, be more discplined and work ball into box. my team controlling the much but every team countering me as hell. I dont have too much scoring chances.

Marwan595
Cleon when you say the two CMs should be doing the same things do you mean same roles and duties or you just mean both should be compact and stay back at most times? Also the reason for the TI's is because I wanted to high press as well as keep the ball and I read the Pairs and Combinations article and it seemed to suggest the same TI's too. I think they kinda are maybe too much but I also wanted my team to do specific things so thought the TI's go hand in hand with that. Would you suggest a BBM with a CM-D? Is there a pairing you'd suggest for this team? Thank you for the advice I appreciate it.
Marwan595
[/img] For anyone that's still interested, I've seemed to solve my problem using these tactics instead. Thumped CSKA Moscow 4-1 and Liverpool an incredible 7-1!
