Goals Conceeded

A bit of tactical advise..

When looking at my team report i have noticed a few things about goals i conceed. The one major problem is conceeding late goals. I can never seem to see out games and its bloody annoying.

I have tried going contain for the final 20 minutes, telling the team to concentrate and tighten up but I cant seem to stop the problem.

The report page says i conceed most of my goals (27%) in the final 15 minutes of games.

Anyone having the same issue and have come up with a way to prevent this?

Another thing, I conceed 47% of my goals down the left wing.

First question is, Is this my left wing or is it the attacking teams left wing? So would it be my right back or my left back?

I have brought another left back now, so hopefully this will help with this issue but any suggestions in how to prevent it would be helpful.

Firstly, you're probably over inviting pressure by switching to Contain. Cleon and I have the same way of thinking here: if you are winning in the last few minutes, the AI will have a go. That's nothing to fear, it's actually an opportunity as they'll be leaving more space behind for you to stretch your lead. Don't go gung-ho but try to think of logical changes that might make the most of that space.

Regarding the left wing thing, it's your left side. It won't just be about the left back though, it will be everything to do with the whole setup of your left side (including left sided CMs).

I am playing a flat basic 4-5-1.

My three CM's are usually Automatic, Defensive and Support.

Do you think making the left sided midfielder defensive could help also? But would that effect me going forward?

Lot's of people go contain in the final moments of the game and I don't understand why really. Because you invite lots of pressure and contain isn't a strategy that is focused on any kind of counter attacks. It's aimed at just soaking up constant pressure in the hope you hold out. RTH and myself both score more goals during this period as the opposition become desperate as they go more attacking so this opens up space. I think majority of my goals on my current save all come between 65-85 minutes as that's when the opposition seem to try and win the game after already being a goal down. There are many ways you could pick them off so just pay attention to any changes the AI makes and see how you can counter that and use it as an advantage.
