Finding it hard to adjust.

Recommended Posts

Got the game on Friday and have already had to start 3 new games. In my latest game i started at Portsmouth, things were going okay i was floating around automatic promotion for the first 30 or so games. Things were never really convincing most games would be won by a goal or two and sometimes i would drop points or be beaten quite convincingly by sides way lower. I started to look into the prozone stuff a bit more and realized that most of the goals i was conceding were through crosses even though my center backs were pretty tall and my full backs werent to attacking. I tried a lot of different things to try and combat my problem but nothing would work. Even when i put my full backs on defend told them to press wingers and show them on to the foot that they wouldnt be crossing with i was still conceding so many goals through this. I had three different tactics and spent the time to get the team used to them but changed things when it wasnt working. My main one was 4-2-3-1 controlling mentality, 2 cb's defending, 2 full backs automatic, cm's were dlp support and bwm defend, 2 wingers on attack an advanced playmaker and a poacher. Scoring goals werent a huge problem but the amount of chanches we were giving away were phenomenal i dont think there was a game that the opposition had less than 8 shots. I tried playing a bit more direct but nothing changed, tried pushing up more things didnt change. i went on a pretty horrific run in my last 12 games where i only won one and lost and 7 or 8 ended up 10th with 2 games to go and just decided to start a new game. Does anyone have any advice? Maybe theres something huge im missing. I just cant start another game its driving me mad. Nothing seems to be working for me.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

It as a myth. BWM/D has active instruction: Hold position. So the space where he goes hunting is very limited. There are other roles/duties who leaves big gaps: roaming playmaker, BWM/S, box to box midfielder and central midfielder/A.

It's not a myth. Hold position applies when the team has possession. Out of possession, he'll press heavily, leaving gaps which may be an issue.
