Cross save

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just wanted to enquire about the cross save compatibility. Will it work on an android tab and a MacBook? Or will it have to be iOS to Mac and android to Windows?

Thanks!

All platforms, ie iOS, Android, OSX, Windows, Linux can cross-save to each other :)

Just to jump on this thread instead of starting a new one, currently have my own game ongoing since release on PC and would like to get a tablet to be able to continue this whilst at work. Is there anything at all stopping me saving this to the cloud and carrying it on on my tablet? Number of leagues or anything like that?

It should be fine provided these 3 things:

Obviously it needs to be an FM Touch save (not regular FM)

You did not tick the box to "Remove Nation and League Restrictions" when setting up the game as ticking this will stop the game from being tablet-compatible

You aren't more than 30 seasons in as that is the maximum save length on tablet

Otherwise you should have no problem :)

I created a save on my laptop this morning using the guidelines above. I started as one team then changed my mind, so I retired that manager and created a new one at another club. However after saving to the cloud, and shutting down Football Manager on the laptop the save doesn't appear in the cross save section on my Ipad. Is this because the games had two managers in it? I can always create the game again, but I'd started to progress with the save before exiting.

Are you sure you retired the 1st manager before adding the 2nd? If you added the 2nd manager before retiring the 1st that would make your save game permanently incompatible with tablet.

The definite way to tell is to find the folder on your PC where your save games usually (on Windows, by default this is 'C:/Users/<user>/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2016/games').

If the save game is a .fmv file, it should be compatible. If it's .fm or .fmt, it is incompatible.

Just got a new tablet and I'm wanting to transfer my saved game from old device. I don't have a PC version. After I log-in to steam I get message that no registered version of the game was found, and when I try to save a season on my old device using cross-save I can see a list of my regularly saved games, but I get a an error message when I try to save them to the cloud. I assume the issue is that I haven't purchase FM on steam, since I won't be playing on a PC. But I also assume I should still be able to use cloud saving between two iOS devices.
