DizzyPenguin
Every time I get the error "Football Manager 2016 is already running" Even if I've just turned the PC on and have not clicked anything since logging on. I can only load the game by opening up Steam and selecting Play Game from my library that way. Does anyone else have problems with this? There's something in the bugs forum but I'm not sure if it's a bug or just something wrong with my setup. The reply in the bugs bit said it is a Windows 10 specific issue - but I'm on Windows 7. I've played all the FM's before and never had this problem. Any info appreciated, thanks!
Guest
This is down to an issue with the Steam client & means that you have to launch games from the client games library.
Maviarab.
Way around it I personally found, go into steam folder etc FM 2016. Create a shortcut of the fm16 exe...pin that shortcut somewhere, will start up fine then without Steam throwing a hissy fit at you And sorry Barside, but it's your setp. Other Steam games do not have this issue I have found, or maybe I just hit lucky with the games I play?
Guest
I didn't know that worked.

Are we stuck with this not working? PAH!!
Maviarab.
As I'm pedantic....I have a folder in my docs full of game shortcuts, and my favourites menu (in start menu) is now a games menu. So I made shortcut of the fm.exe in the steam game folder and put that shortcut where I wanted it. works a dream, no more Steam telling it can't start the game

MECAP
find fm16 right click on steam library and choose create shortcut, find that on desktop and cut/copy elsewhere
DizzyPenguin
find fm16 right click on steam library and choose create shortcut, find that on desktop and cut/copy elsewhere Ahh, works when creating shortcut directly from Steam. But this shortcut can't be added to the Windows taskbar..... It's still much better opening directly from desktop than having to go through Steam each time, so thanks for the information. Just wish I could get it to run from the taskbar!! EDIT: Once I was playing it this way (from desktop) I could right click the logo in the taskbar and pin it that way... but low and behold the same "Already running" error persists. Sigh.
