Blurry iPad Interface / No iPad Support?

Recommended Posts

The interface of Football Manager Mobile (FMM16) for the iPad isn't even retina ready, looking terrible like some outdated game or abandonware.

Text is not sharp with all UI elements appearing blurry and pixelated.

Is it really so hard to release proper support for iPad?

Is this lack of polish and blurry interface also "intended by design" or is it actually a bug that can be fixed?

This is just embarrassing for a product at this price tag.

Hi - we're taking under consideration whether to offer native 2048x1536 resolution, however we have to bear in mind that this would lead to a vastly larger download and also have a severe impact on match performance. Thanks for the feedback though.

Edit: I also don't believe we are currently provided with licensed assets that are large enough to support such a skin.

Alari, I'm sorry to insist but lacking support for native resolution is a serious issue, especially in a game that's as menu intensive as FMM. The text just looks terrible on the iPad. This problem was reported well over a year in the previous versions and nothing was done to fix it. Being under consideration means that we might get proper native support in the next update or is it the kind of thing that will only be improved for the next version and another whole year?

A smaller download should never be an excuse to release an unpolished product without native support. That kind of thing is unthinkable in modern gaming.

Most games do not support retina iPad resolution natively and the number of comments we have had on this over the years is pretty low overall. In our experience if we were to implement this we would receive a lot more complaints about the decrease in performance that would be inevitable.

That's just not true. Most games, even if not all obviously, indeed support native resolution on the iPad. I have well over 100 games of different genres purchased in the App Store and none has the lack of polish we find in Football Manager Mobile. Even games from small companies with just a single developer have long updated their assets to retina quality. That you think otherwise and this is presented as an official stance is just... baffling.
