KingCanary
Not sure if this belongs here or the tactics forum but I'm wondering why my striker keeps getting caught offside so much. I'm playing as Norwich and have signed Charlie Austin. He's playing upfront on his own set to target man (s) and I'm playing shorter passing so not exactly asking him to play on the shoulder of the last man or knocking long balls in behind the defence, yet he is consistently getting caught offside (3 or 4 times a game). Obviously I want to bring this down but equally he's scoring regualrly so don't want to blunt that either. Any ideas?
brawla123
What PPM's does he have?
KingCanary
'Likes to try and beat offside trap.' That explains it then!
DavidPengilley
Yeah I've just found the same with one of my main goalscorers who I taught that PPM to. Bit of a mistake as he's being flagged more often which disrupts the "Work it into the box" instruction
TacoCorp
There was a response from SI on this forum in regards to players with 'Likes to try and beat offside trap' being caught offside far more than they should be compared to real life. They're aware of the issue and can hopefully resolve the issue. I know it was a real pain for me as well in an F.C. United save. Their key striker has that PPM and had been an absolute beast in the beta, but was the worst striker on the team by far in the full release.
