mrdanbartlett
Hello, Just start without a job then holiday the game, save it around Feb/March. Now just holiday it until around end of May and see if Salford get promoted to VNN league, they often do. If they don't just reload back to Feb/March and try again. There is a more accurate date but that is a rough guide. I did this and I'm managing them with my current save.
xambo
That would be a great save and team to manage. Having the United class of '92 as your board.
SI Staff Seb Wassell Posted December 16, 2015 SI Staff Share Posted December 16, 2015 Hey djjevans, Salford City are one league below the lowest playable division in England. If you would like to get them into your save and have a go with them, try this: 1. Start a new game in England with all leagues playable. 2. Holiday until 23rd June 2016. 3. Now save. 4. Continue the game one day until season update day (24th June 2016). - On this day promotions/relegations to/from the bottom leagues take place. This is when Salford City could be promoted to the Vanarama North/South. - The teams that get promoted from unplayable to playable leagues are decided by reputation and luck. - If Salford City do not get promoted this time, reload the save from step 3 (23rd June) and repeat step 4. Do this until Salford City are promoted. 5. Retire the manager that did the holidaying and add a new manager as the boss of the newly promoted Salford City. 6. Enjoy. mrdanbartlett
There you go! PS The Class of 92 aren't listed as owners as far as I'm aware, so there is another guy as the chairmen etc, but at least we know in our heads it's the 92 boys Also the owner is a background sugar-daddy, so will bail the finances out each year, this makes it alot less stressful! It's a challenging save though as the rep is low, budgets low and I'm still only getting 1000-1200 crowds and I'm in League 2 play off spot.
Welshace
Peter Lim, Singapore billionaire. .. he has a 50% stake in Salford along with the boys.
Thebaker
Salford are high rep, so you won't need too many reloads. Not sure its that challenging, the team has reached the championship by 2024 under AI management in my game, they did the conferences in just 2 seasons
mrdanbartlett
Interesting - could you tell me what their crowds were like and stadium size/capacity? I'm guessing they would be in the same stadium (Moor lane) and maybe getting 6-8k? Would be great if you have time to check. Thanks
EuskalHerria
hi everyone i was hopping to do a salford city save but i found out they are not on fm and i was told you need to download extra lower league management which is great but i don't no where to find it so i can download it and wouldn't no how to than upload it to my football manager 2016 game? can someone please help me!!!!!!! They are in FM, they just aren't in an activated league. You have to either activate it yourself, download somebodies database who activated or go on Holiday until the end of the season when promotions into the Vanarama North/South happen and see if they get promoted and then create a new manager and take them over. IMT
Like been said you can do the save/reload option, but if you look in the editors forum, there is downloadable databases where you can play with them from the 1st season, if you wanted to start in the Northern Premier with them. rhysieboy79
It wasn't too difficult to go into the editor and add all the class of 92 lads as directors and add lower leagues to playable. Lots of walkthroughs on the internet with step by step instructions just hunt about. I also added my son to the game and started him in salford yth academy
Neil_Roberts
I found Salford pretty easy to get to the Prem/CL etc, but very frustrating the stadium stayed 12k for years and years. New stadium gets refused by the council planning. Gave up in 2025 after winning everything. My youth academy was producing some crackers by then though. Might go back to it at some stage, but fancied playing with Cardiff for a while.
mrdanbartlett
Oh interesting! I assume that was FM15? Maybe they will have more luck in FM16 with the new ground? Plus FM16 is ALOT harder to get quick promotions with smaller teams.

ThunderZtormDK
They are in moor lane with crowds averaging 3300! Capacity is 9250 That seems wrong. If they are in the Championship, surely they would pull somewhat larger crowds than that for their games?!
Thebaker
That seems wrong. If they are in the Championship, surely they would pull somewhat larger crowds than that for their games?! Possibly not since thay have no history in the leagues to build up attendance, no smaller club has ever been at that level and they are in 24th by mid dec. The other obvious factor is the catchment area has a lot of other clubs so attendance would never grow very much. Nearest recent clubs IRL i can find is Colchester and Scunthorpe averaging 5500 and both could be considered bigger clubs

mrdanbartlett
Interesting re the crowds and yes make sense! I lost the league 2 play off final, which was way more than I expected at the start of the seasons so I'm happy. My wage budget has now doubled from 16k to 30k! Plus I can attract some better players, already got a couple of great signings in the door so I'm hoping for an automatic promotion this year. We got £500k for finishing the league plus some good money from the play off final gate - so the finances are healthy'ish.
mrdanbartlett
REALLY enjoying this save - 2nd season in league 2 (lost the play-off final last season) and in the top 3 now in Jan. Added some quality to the side, my front 2 from last year of James Collins & Nabi are doing well and I've just landed Adam Le Fondre on Loan, he is 33 now but still has good stats inc 15 for finishing. Lee Martin has joined for the season - again he is 33 but brings some good quality to the AML position and still has 12 pace. I got this youngish AMC who is VERY good, leading league 1 player, on a free but 2.5k highest earner - still he is valued at 700k which is great for this division, was the result of some time consuming scouting of international sides with players who didn't have a club. I have Hendrie at LB, Andy Webster at CB, Jack O'connel as his partner and now Elliot Hewit on loan at RB - so a v strong back 4. Also the squad has excellent depth now, I can swap the whole XI for another XI and still be competitive, and all for 22k a week in wages Disappointing draw in the 3rd round of the FA Cup though, QPR away so not a big money spinner, lost 2-0. Also lost on penalties to a league 1 side in the JPT semi final. Still now I can focus on the league 100%. Getting around 1500 fans turn up for home games now too, which isn't bad given when I started with them we would get 400.
mrdanbartlett
Some weird developments in my save....so got promoted after killing League 2....we lost about £1m or so over the season, wage spend was only £23k PW. Anyway new budget is £41k so I'm condifent we can stay up in league 1. Now the weird bits...........apparently I'm now allowed 27 coaches......it was 7! Also I can have 15 scouts up from 5! Oh and get this league 1 Salford can now scout THE WORLD! ODD. Is it worth scouting outside of Europe?? Surely all work permits will get refused? Pretty insane developments!
