RobertPage
During busy periods i tend to avoid rest days in order to get as much preperation for the matches in as possible but will lower the training intensity. But what i'm wondering is how the rest days affect how condition is recovered? does it make any difference or am i maybe better off having heavier sessions with a rest day after the game? Cougar2010
From my experience rest days do speed up the recovery of condition.
phnompenhandy
Very much so. In the lower leagues with players having low stamina and natural fitness, 2 games a week with small squads is gruelling. I regularly give 1 or 2 rest days to those ones I need to play again in 3 days when their condition is down to the 60s.
RobertPage
Thanks for the replies. Will have to look at giving rest days now then. Got sold a few quality back up players and some of the youngsters aren't quite good enough for regular league / champions league games. Need to try and manage players fitness a bit more than previously
Draakon
I believe so. Plus, I do believe that complaining about injury frequencies in FM16 is overrated and often comes down to training intensity and rest days. I always give rest days before and after matches + keep training intensity at medium. High training intensity (in my experience) almost always gets me at least one training injury and is not worth it.
HUNT3R
It does increase the condition recovered for the day(s) you have players set to rest at the expense of training time, obviously.
dllu
Especially when playing in the English leagues with the massive fixture congestion, I always give any players that are tired after a game one day of rest. Otherwise they very quickly become jaded and it affects their performance - even more so of course if they are semi-pros...
uğurcan
Should you give rest days before or after a match? I have always used rest days after the games but I wonder what effect would it have to arrange them just before the game.

If they're due to be fit for the fixture, there's no point resting before the game. Only if their condition is going to be under 90% should you rest them before the game.
