frigmeister
Hi all, I've searched the forum and can't find anything which relates to the issue I'm having with the stadium settings for cup finals in the FM15 pre-game editor. I've set up new nation rules for Scotland and selected the semi finals to be at neutral stadiums and the final at the national stadium for the Scottish Cup, however both semi finals and the final are always played at the "home" team's stadium. I've had several attempts at fixing it - deleting the cup and setting it up again, setting the matches to be at a specific stadium (Hampden), setting the minimum stadium capacity for the matches - but nothing seems to work. The same problem exists for the League Cup and Challenge Cup so I don't think it's anything to do with the cup-specific rules I've created but must be a more fundamental issue. To note, I set up the rules using the "Basic Rules" function and the stadium settings worked with no problems but when I switched to "Advanced Rules" in order to add TV dates for the cup competitions, something seems to have changed and the stadium rules aren't taking effect. Please could someone help with this as I can't seem to figure out the problem. Thanks.
KUBI
In the fixtures dates, set the final (or semi final) stadium to "Ask competition neutral" (For the semi final better: "Ask competition neutral (not home)") Go to stages --> round defaults. Stadium should be greyed out / not checked (you can set it "home" in all round defaults, except semi and final) Go to rounds --> Final (or semi-final) --> General Click stadium --> specific stadium (or national stadium) --> set the specific stadium (For semi-final "ask competition neutral" again). frigmeister
In the fixtures dates, set the final (or semi final) stadium to "Ask competition neutral" This fixed the problem. Thanks very much for your help. It's bizarre that there would be multiple ways to set a neutral stadium and that this option would take precedence over the others. KUBI
That's the flip side of the advanced rules. But on the other side you can make very sophisticated rules for cup finals (when, where, which year interval, etc.)
cooperidol
This helped me greatly!! Thanks @KUBI Could you help me go one step further? In my Last 16 knockout round I would like to select the 8 largest stadiums in the world to be used as neutral venues for this round. How would I do this? I see there is a "set specific Stadium" but I don't want every fixture of that round to be played in the same stadium. Is this possible?
