4-2-3-1 Attacking set up

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I'm seeking some input on how I can make this set up work with 2 IFs. My goal is to have the IF on the left be my main goal threat while the right IF assists the AM in linking up the mid field. I'm unsure of my striker role, but I envisioned someone who can hold up play and create space for the IFs to exploit. My CMs I left on defend duty to screen my defense and tasked my wide defenders with supplying are teams width. My defense seem really solid but I do struggle to break teams who set up deep and park the bus.

Are my attacker all occupying the same space? I seem to create more chances when I switch one IF to a winger.

If the above is true is there any way or PIs I can add to keep the 2 IFs?

Should my striker be set to attack to create more depth in my attack?

Should I aim to drop one of the WB to FB(s) and switch one of the cm roles to provide me support in attack?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

WB(a) CD(d) CD(d) WB(s)

Your really the one who can answer that as your the only one who can watch the game. They could combine well if they have the ability to, but then again they could just make it easy to be marked and limit options. Tell us what you see and we can suggest specific ways of fixing the actual issue.

I've used two IFs with a support duty ST but that was without an AM. You could try dropping your AM to central midfield or give him roaming/channel PI so he leaves the center more often to make space for your CF and IF's. Just watch for your CF-S roaming to and see if they drag defenders out of position or cause overloads.
