Katana
Hi, I tried searching for this, but couldn't find it it anywhere. If it has been answered, please direct me to where it is. How does a player's unhappines with training affect his increase in attributes? And what decides whether the player is unhappy with the individual training or not? In my current game I have two youngsters who are both complaining that the "individual training he has been assigned is not beneficial". My coach therefore recommends I change it to something else. The first player is a 17 y.o. Central Defender with Composure attribute of 1(!), which I am trying to increase. All other desirable attributes for his role, that I can specifically train, are at 7 or above. The second is a 16 y.o. Striker with a Positioning attribute of 3. All the relevant attributes for the role I want him to play are at 7 or above, except for Anticipation which I can't specifically train. Positioning is not one of the desired attributes for his role, but I would like him to improve it nonetheless. For the second question first. How does a 17 y.o. CD figure that Composure of 1 doesn't need to be trained, but rather his other attributes? For the Striker it's sort of understandable, as it's not normally part of his "Striker duties", but for the CD I don't understand the reasoning. Is it completely random? Then comes my most important question; How does this affect their improvement in this specific area? Will their unhappiness have a great influence on their development, or is it "cosmetic" only? For Training Workload unhappiness I always ignore it unless I see an influx in injuries, as I figure that to be more of a Personality issue on the Player's behalf, and doesn't really affect anything. But for the above questions I am not so sure.

It goes away after a while. Composure is just as vital for strikers too. But like pointed out above it's a bug. Then comes my most important question; How does this affect their improvement in this specific area? Will their unhappiness have a great influence on their development, or is it "cosmetic" only? The thing to remember about player development is, that how well someone develops mainly comes from his personality type and then playing matches. Those are the two most important things. A player needs ambition and professionalism. The higher those are the better chance he has at reaching his potential if given game time. Having players unhappy with training isn't really an issue directly because it's all about the other two things I mentioned.

I meant that it is understandable that a Striker complains about being trained in "Positioning" as it's not part of his "desired attributes". Tutoring én masse to accomplish that, so that's covered It was more a question in the line of: In a fictional scenario with two players who have the exact same personality and get the exact same playing time , and are both trained exactly the same. Will the player who is unhappy with his specific attribute training develop slower for that specific attribute, compared with the player who is not unhappy with it? If everything was even and they didn't have injuries and both did the exact same things, then they'd both improve the same. I know it's a fictional scenario but it's still not that simple. But in short to give you an answer yes the unhappy player wouldn't learn any slower or be hindered.

I'll let my players remain as unhappy as they want then
roggiotis
I'll let my players remain as unhappy as they want then Unless of course you have another scenario A 1,60m ST who you train him in jumping and headers, or a strong CD 1,98m heavy with 8 acceleration and pace who you train in quickness they complain reasonably and you must act...accordingly

I still want him to become faster And according to Cleon, what really matters for development is Ambition, Professionalism and Playing Time. So that the player is unhappy doesn't really matter for development. Whether that CD of yours can actually improve beyond an 8, well he will definetely never be a sprinter, but if he is still young then some improvement is expected if it's specifically trained on. Usain Bolt was apparantly 1.96 at the age of 15, and he's quite quick
DGN
Player unhappiness is picked up by the board and be sufficient for the manager to be sacked, particularly if your team is on a poor run, added pressure and all that..pft Seems this bug makes the game even harder!
