Too many offsides & 'Tries to beat offside' PPM

Recommended Posts

I've searched the net and forum for a solution to this problem as it is completely ruining the gaming experience!

My star striker (icardi) is constantly offside. Often 10+ times per game...it undermines my whole teams performance and results. After researching, the problem is caused by his tendency to 'try to beat the offside trap' (possibly combined with low positioning skill... Yes, even though this used to be a defensive-only stat). It is also possibly something to do with the exact way my tactics are setup, but this is secondary. First and foremost I think this is a glitch? Surely I should be able to work within the tactics available without Icardi or others constantly roaming into an offside position. The only thing which stops this is setting him to false nine, which completely screws his and the teams performances still

In the other forum posts the mods said that they have solved this? But no solution is offered! Other posts say they 'are aware' of the problem (over a month ago).

I am currently training Icardi in positioning and also stopping to try to beat the offside trap. Will these even solve the problem?

Or can someone point me in the direction of some other solution or work around? I was getting really into this new version, modding all my players photos etc... But this is ruining the game for me

Help appreciated

You're correct in that positioning is a defensive attribute. 'Off the ball' is the attribute to focus on for better attacking movement. However, if you can train the PPM out of him that should reduce the issue. Have you tried him as a CF(s) to see if that helps? Should allow more forward runs than the F9 whilst still resulting in some supporting play.

Icardi has 17 off the ball, 16 anticipation, 14 concentration. Shouldn't be a problem with beating that offside trap although italian stikers are famous for being offside...:lol:try include pass into space in your tactics and train your playmakers/creative players to get the 'trys killers balls' PPM. Just some advice, might work might not.

Ok, thanks for the help. Well I watched the entirety of matches to see how he behaves...and he is basically CONSTANTLY going in and out of an offside position... As though he is looking to make the killer run every single second of the game that we are in possession. And he's useless at it! Plus I'm trying to play a slow build up game sometimes, work ball into box. Can I not do this with Icardi?! It looks like a bug to me, I dunno.

Other players have raised this issue... Where are the mods/tech guys after they have admitted it needs addressing? Could I get an update from them?

Cf (s) doesn't fix it by the way. Besides, I don't want him as a support player, lol.... his passing/vision/teamwork isn't good and I have 5 top midfielders for that.

So basically all I can really do is wait for the training to reverse his offside ppm to be finished?

Sigh!

I am having this issue in the English lower leagues as well. I'm having up to 10 or 15 offsides a match for both teams. It's the whole team and not just the players with that PPM getting called offside, it's the wingers, central mids, full backs etc. It matters little if my tactics are offensive or defensive.

My deep-lying forward striker on support is constantly trying to make those killer runs too. He is oscillating between onside/offside all match along with other players getting forward.

I'd love to know what the stats for offsides per match is in real life because I feel like I'm seeing way more than should be normal.

agreed.

in my RBL save, i thought Davie Selke, Andre Silva the same ppm and right now they are getting caught in offside at least 6 times each game.

both players are pretty good.

i ve seen davie selke only score once by going in and out to confuse enemy defence line but other than that its been pretty inefficient
