Roaming Playmaker - great performances but poor stats. (4-4-2)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm in my third season with Leeds Utd. My team is performing pretty well (7th place last season, now 5th place after 14 games), we play nice, offensive football and the only thing I'm not entirely happy is my midfield duo. These are Mowatt and Cook, who has great notes each game (7.85 on avg), but I'd like him to score more goals and get more assists (by now: 0 goals 2 assists in 13 games). This is my tactic:

Very fluid (but tried also fluid and balanced), standard/control (depends on the opposition), TI's: press more, get stuck in.

--------------GK/D---------------

WB/S----CD/D---CD/D------FB/S

WM/S----DLP/S--RPM/S----W/A

----------CF/S----AF/A

Cook developed really well, he's got at least 13 in all attributes important for RPM, he's got some PPM's that should be helpful to score some goals and deliver more assists. These are: shoots with power, attacks with the ball through the middle, gets into penalty area. I tried giving him some PI's: more risky passes, move into channels, shoot more often. I also tried to give him B2B role with 'play higher' PI. Nothing is working tbh. He just doesn't want to get into penalty area, even during counter attacks he just stops on 18-20 meters before goal. Also his passing decisions are sometimes to conservative (instead of through balls he is passing the ball to the wing or to the DLP behind him). In this FM I generally found it extremely hard to get goals and loads of assists of players in MC position. I'd like my RPM to score like Toure (I think he's the player who the RPM role is based on?) or at least to get a lot of assists like Fabregas in Chelsea ;)

Any help would be appreciated : )
