KingCanary
Why does the game only seem to flag some disallowed goals properly? For some you get the proper 'GOAL' commentary flashing up before the offside/foul indicator comes up yet for others it just says 'free kick' straight away and they don't seem to be flagged as an actual disallowed goal. Bit frustrating as I had what appeared to be a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside (cross comes in, player turns it home first time, given offside, match engine makes it look like he is at least level with a couple of the defenders) yet can't even comment on it as it isn't mentioned at all. gunnerfan
I noticed that as well. I assume they are simulating a late call by the official, although I think it happens more frequently in the game than in real life.
HUNT3R
Switch your highlights to Goal Action instead of goals only and you'll see offside lines that will show whether the assistant was correct or not.

Can you see such a line for offsides which aren't related to a goal?

Thanks Hunter, how did I not realise this wasn't on for me?! I suppose it would prove my 'That was offside ref you cheating ****' shouts incorrect more often than not so I might just leave it. It's better to have an excuse for when I concede.
USASoundersFan
I noticed that as well. I assume they are simulating a late call by the official, although I think it happens more frequently in the game than in real life. I could have been wrong, but I have always imagined the scenario where it is flashing "Goal" before it gets disallowed is indicating the players all celebrating before belatedly noticing that the assistant referee has his flag up. Conversely, when it is disallowed before the "Goal" flashing ever starts, that indicates that they realized right away that it was going to be or had already been disallowed. Personally, I would love there to be some kind of indicator from the assistant referee (I just bought the 2016 game, so I am unsure if one has been added). For example, in the 3D version, does the assistant referee raise his flag when a play is offsides? (Of course, even in that situation, there's a decent chance that the assistant referee will be off screen anyway.) Also, in the 2D version, it would be cool if some kind of indicator went off on the assistant referee icon as, while playing 2D games, both assistant referees are always on screen. (Once again, unsure if this has been added.) As far as whether the offsides calls are proper or not, I know that in the 2013 game, they appeared to be wrong quite a bit, so I hope that aspect of the game is improved in the 2016 game. For example, in the 3D version, does the assistant referee raise his flag when a play is offsides? This has been introduced for 3D matches so it is quite easy to notice that the player is offside. Usually the first thing i look at when a goals scored that looks tight so quite a good addition in my opinion.
