in-game editor - do my own hidden attributes matter?

Recommended Posts

As the thread title asks, do my own hidden attributes have any affect on the game? I started a game and immediately adjusted these to ratings that I felt accurately described me (or at least described my Football Manager personality). However, after thinking about it, I am starting to wonder if they have any bearing whatsoever.

These attributes - attacking, defensive line, directness, dirtiness allowed, flamboyance, flexibility, free roles, marking, offside, closing down, sitting back, tempo, use of playmaker, use of subs, width, buying players, hardness of training, mind games, squad rotation, business, interference, resources and patience - all appear to be ones that I could easily override simply by how I am playing the game.

Under the "general" tab, of course, your ability and reputation directly influence your career. However, I am curious if the ones below those do: ambition, loyalty, pressure, professionalism, sportsmanship, temperament and controversy. Like the ones in the previous paragraph, these appear to also be ones that you could override. For example, ambition and loyalty would in essence be determined by how quickly I leave my job for another one rather than what this number is.

I guess my point is that pretty much the only reason I am using the in-game editor is to change those attributes to numbers that I feel are most accurate; should I even bother?
