smr101
Playing as Stoke and just noticed our home stadium for the season is Bramall Lane while the stadium extension is ongoing. Is this common? Also, will it have an affect on attendances or performance? Not something I've ever noticed before.
OrientTillIDie
Yes it's common on the game. Slightly different context but when I managed to get Orient to the Prem on last years game the board built me a new ground and I shared with Palace. Similarly with Eastleigh I shared with Southampton. It will affect attendances because I'm guessing Bramall Lane has a different capacity to the Brit (no idea what exactly off the top of my head). Performances is an interesting one. Personally I've never suffered because of ground sharing so from my perspective it's never been a problem. Bramall Lane is actually bigger than the Britania, just shows how far Sheffield United have gone in recent years.
handy500
Yep i had exacly the same when Managing my beloved Stoke in FM15 Currently managing them in my first season on FM16 .

Orient playing at palace how unrealistic is that lol not even in London why not West Ham or charlton
smr101
Bramall Lane is actually bigger than the Britania, just shows how far Sheffield United have gone in recent years. Yeah it's 32k, so a good size. Just thinking in real life, you won't have 32,000 Stoke fans travelling to Sheffield every week, not sure if the game factors that or not. OrientTillIDie
Orient playing at palace how unrealistic is that lol not even in London why not West Ham or charlton We would never share with West Ham because of the hatred the fans have towards them. Charlton possibly but the game decided on Palace.

I am well aware as an Orient follower from forest gate (big West Ham territory) but stranger things have happened ie man United playing at maine road in the war
Nobby_McDonald
Stoke would never groundshare at Sheffield United. There are a lot of suitable stadiums both closer and easier to get to than Sheffield which is a pain to get to from Stoke as there are no direct major roads. Andrew Haines
I'm guessing the game uses geoposition and thinks that Stoke and Sheffield are relatively local. Obviously not aware that the peak district gets in the way a bit..
Andrew Haines
Orient playing at palace how unrealistic is that lol not even in London why not West Ham or charlton As an ignorant northerner, isn't Selhurst Park in London?? Genuine question.
Jcl0303
As an ignorant northerner, isn't Selhurst Park in London?? Genuine question. No as any real Londoner would tell you, selhurst Park is in Croydon (Surrey) palace fans would argue but take no notice haha
OrientTillIDie
I am well aware as an Orient follower from forest gate (big West Ham territory) but stranger things have happened ie man United playing at maine road in the war I appreciate the example but happily there isn't a world war happening right now. The war is a rather extreme context so it's hardly surprising people weren't as fussy.
MarchinOn2Getha
I had a similar situation in FM15 with Leeds. Elland Road was having massive improvements made to it meaning that I played all home games for one year at the City of Manchester Stadium! This did annoy me a bit as although the ground was sitting empty (so kind of made sense in that regard!) Leeds would never send their fans to Manchester to watch home games. Don't get me wrong, I can't imagine Leeds sharing with either Sheffield club or Hull, Bradford etc but it would have been a bit more realistic maybe being as they are in the same county at least. m_fenton
No as any real Londoner would tell you, selhurst Park is in Croydon (Surrey) palace fans would argue but take no notice haha Croydon as in "The London Borough of Croydon"?
Jcl0303
Yea like the 'london borough' of Kingston upon Thames or the 'london Borough' of Havering lol
warpedpolecat
Bramall Lane is actually bigger than the Britania, just shows how far Sheffield United have gone in recent years. Don't remind me... We're terrible!
m_fenton
Yea like the 'london borough' of Kingston upon Thames or the 'london Borough' of Havering lol The "Royal" Borough of Kingston upon Thames, for what it's worth... Orient playing at West Ham would be far worse than Orient playing at Palace.
mrw072
In my game I get news for Darlington FC because they're my local team and I'd like to see them back in the game (in the playable leagues). Anyway they've made it and I was pleased to see they have a new ground too! IRL they play 12 miles out of town at a ground that is not quite up to spec for the National Leagues. I was hoping they would have a new homeground in Darlington in the game so I was pleased to see that they did, or I thought they did lol. The ground is now situated in BEDlington about 50 miles North of Darlington lol. So I just hope I don't have to go there on a cold Tuesday night in the Winter lol. But I think it's a good feature. In this case I think it's actually quite well researched too!
Carninho
Forest played at Hillsborough for a season in one of my FM16 saves when the board added a few 1000 seats to our year old stadium

I agree it's not ideal but surely just for convenience and locality for supporters West Ham would make more sense, or Olympic stadium
Messimerize
Same here as Chelsea. My temporary stadium is Wembley while Stamford Bridge is being expanded... I wonder if it will affect the FA cup lol
m_fenton
I agree it's not ideal but surely just for convenience and locality for supporters West Ham would make more sense, or Olympic stadium Certainly, but in real life that sort of sharing rarely happens unfortunately. Tottenham are building their new stadium, and are looking at either playing at Wembley or MK Dons. Putting aside rivalries, it would of course make most sense to play at the Emirates, but it's never going to happen.
