[Just bought FM16 last week. Been loving FM14 and didn't want to give it up. Now I wish I didn't. Not loving FM16 so far. This is a rant/fair declaration of why I love AND hate this game.]

So I took over Aberdeen. Of course I did. I've had other teams I've loved. In order of loving it goes Havre Athletic, Leverkusen, Atalanta, Jonkopings Sodra.

But I couldn't say no to Aberdeen. We're good this year! Or...are we?

European schedule has killed my team. We entered the Europa League in the first round. Against Balzan of Malta. We won 2-0 away and 5-0 at home. Easy. Then a proper challenge. FC Copenhagen in the second round. A 1-1 draw at home was followed by a 1-0 win away courtesy of a late penalty. Happy days, right? Third round threw up a weird one. ASA Tirgu Mires. 1-0 at home, 2-0 away. Fantastic. In between we draw 1-1 with Dundee Utd and thrash Kilmarnock 5-0. Top of the world. Transfers? Well maybe you're wondering. Here we go:

The league started getting tough after that. And we got our playoff draw in the Europa League. Six games played, 5 won, only one drawn, but we're still not good enough. So who do we get? Obviously, the world loves us and we get West Ham United.

Out of Europe. Don't get it. We played 8 games. We won 5, drew 1, lost 2. UEFA sucks.

So we concentrate on the league. We've got the second best team in the league. Should be simple. In real life Aberdeen won 8 out of 8 at the start of the year. And we thrashed Killie 5-0. We're awesome. Apart from that game against Dundee. But then Ryan Jack and Adam Rooney were injured. We'll be fine. Right?

I suck. I hate this game. But I've been playing since CM 97-98 so no giving up yet. Yet. I'm bottom of the league.

My love/hate relationship with this game is being tested. We can't pass to players wearing our own colours right now. Teams with **** players tear us apart. And believe it or not we were 2-1 up against Celtic in the 60th minute before Leigh ******** Griffiths decided he was going to try. Onwards. As long as I don't get sacked.

The League Cup results are in. Aberdeen got an easy draw against Queen of the South. Albeit away.

Yep. We lost. We didn't even play remotely well. We might as well have given up four minutes in. If we don't win soon, I'm going back to FM14. No joke.

I'm sorry for the negative approach from the first few posts. I was angry and wanted to share it with the world. Things have gone a lot better since, and I'm going to update this again. If a Mod would like to change the name of the thread, feel free. I'm NOT **** and I know it.

Since losing away against Inverness, it's not been easy. We've had a lot of injuries. Nial McGinn came to me complaining about a lack of first team football. I tried playing him but he didn't do so well. So he asked for a transfer. I sold him to Toluca for £525,000. Andy Considine complained of needing a new challenge and didn't appreciate my conversation with him. He's off to Seattle for £50,000, the best I could get for him after he rejected a £180,000 transfer to Preston. But won't leave till mid February.

On the 1st of January 2016, we're 2nd in the league, having been bottom last time I posted. We're equal on points with Dundee United and four off of Celtic. Our bad patch came during a few draws when Ryan Jack and Peter Pawlett, our captain and best player respectively, were injured by dirty, dirty Ross County. It made me realise my lack of backup on the wings and at full back, so Yassine El Ghanassy will join on a free from Stabaek and Mato Milos will arrive from Rijeka for £150,000 today.

I'm also chasing Moussa Dembélé and Dan Burn on pre-contract agreements having thrown all my transfer budget into the wage kitty, with a bunch of youngsters whose contracts were up at the end of the season being released. Nobody worth reporting on. Though my youth team looks really bare. It'll have to do till season's end.

Oh I'd also like to say some words about Jamar Loza. He's scored 14 goals in 15 games. Given he was signed because Rooney was out injured, and given than Rooney has scored twice all season (both in one game) Loza is our main goal threat.

Also thus far in January we've also signed Jon Daoi Bodvarsson and Rasmus Schuller on freebies and Dan Burn has agreed a pre-contract.
