Conferences and fixtures

Using the editor is it possible to do the following:

- Have 2 Conferences (in this case, an Australian conference of 10 teams, and a New Zealand conference of 10 teams).

- Set up the fixtures so that teams play the other teams from their own conference twice (home and away), and play teams from the other conference only once (either home or away) - so a total of 28 games.

- Have the top 4 teams (8 total) from each conference go into a playoff system where the 1st team in NZ conference faces the 4th team in AUS conference, 2nd in NZ faces 3rd in AUS etc.

?

And if so, how easy would it be to do as someone with basic editor skills?

Thanks!

Yes, it is all possible, but only with advanced rules.

I know this may not be what you want to hear, but the best way to learn is to look at the advanced rules for existing leagues - in this case the MLS seems the obvious choice, as what you're suggesting is pretty close to their real life structure. See how that is done, and then try to replicate it. Trial and error...

Thanks! I'll have a look at the MLS and see what I can do :)

Also, another question. Would it be possible for the top 3 of the AUS conference to go into the AFC Champions League, and the top 3 of the NZ conference to go into the OFC Champions League? I'm assuming not, since the league would have to be set as either Australian or New Zealand based..

That's your answer right there. You would have to have something like the Canadian Championship in North America for the New Zealand clubs. Not sure how to set that up properly, though, or if it would even work. After all, the Canadian clubs and the MLS still belong to the same continent football-wise...
