Help me pick next club - plenty of offers in december

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had successful campaign with Spartak Trnava in Slovak First Division - won the title. I resigned after Europa League Playoff defeat and now I am looking for new challenge and I have following offers in december:

Scunthorpe United - Sky Bet League 1 - 23rd position - financial troubles

Sportklub Sturm Graz - tipico-Bundesliga - 7th position - stable finances

Calcio Catania - Serie B - 22nd position - 13,5 mil EUR transfer budget

Karlsruher SC - 2.Budesliga - 17th position

Debreceni VSC - OTP Bank Liga - 7th position

Helmond Sport - Jupiler League - 19th position

Stade Malherbe Caen - Ligue 1 - 19th position - might be very difficult to avoid relegeation

I honestly dont know which team to choose next. They are all very interesting and tempting. Advice anyone? Thanks.

I always avoid financial troubles if possible, and I'll only consider a relegation battle if there's a squad with some potential to make it to mid-table or above. I'd also consider my manager's language abilities, just to make the player interactions easier.

Were it me, I'd probably go for Sturm Graz or Debreceni just on the basis of their position in the standings.

It comes down to in which country you want to manage. I woud say that Scunthorpe is a step down form where you are now. You just won a title in Slovakia and played in european competitions, woud you really go to SkyBet Ligue 1 team in the buttom and fight to avoid relegation? Debreceni coud be a nice team to start a new save with, but again the Hungarian league is weaker than the Slovakian I belive.

It also depends on how long you are thinking staying at the club. With Sturm Graz normaly you shoud be fighting for the title in Austria and its a good team if you want to stay for 2 maybe 3 seasons. From Austria you shoud be able to move to Germany easy later. I woud pick either Sturm Graz, Karlsruher or Caen.
