Why is Tottenham so good in FM16?

Recommended Posts

Jeez, it's amazing, Tottenham is by far the biggest threat in FM16 to me. Lost to them in Europa League in 2 of my saves, lost to them countless times with many teams in my EPL saves and still struggling with my new Man U save. My defenders often will get extremely poor ratings as they always lose to Chadili and Kane.

So i decided to ask for help. Currently in a Man U save, needless to say, i also lost to Tottenham. Goddamn 13/11 quickness Harry Kane will escape my defenders all day to score a long range goal and give an assist. To me, playing against Tottenham is worse than playing Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona. Won't say Real because CR7 is pretty much next-level Harry Kane on the left wing.

After losing so much i just came up with an idea of always playing with a very offensive gameplan to try and limit their team. It worked as Everton and Watford but didn't with Manchester United which was a shock to me.

you should not play attack style when you are a guest team, especially your opponent is tottenham .their counter-attack is really fast and dangerous

That is not necessarily wrong but you should be wary of being too beholden to rules of thumb like 'don't play attacking if your opponents counter well' If your team plays best when attacking, it might well be good to attack Spurs, especially as at WHL they might not play a Counter strategy, and they might not defend in numbers. The OP has shown this as as 'lesser sides' (no offence Everton and watford) the attacking style worked. As United, Spurs would still have looked to counter even when at home so attacking was maybe the wrong choice. Ultimately you have to look at the game as a whole not just the simple interactions between mentalities
