ELLYOT
Just curious about my tactic I have used for Newcastle United for a while, I feel like I am not getting the best out of my players with the style of play and role combinations, though I have had success I think I could do better with the players I have. Here is what my tactic looks like Could I improve anything? Passing is an issue according to my assistant.
swansongs
You have three playmakers all competing for attention in the middle of the park, trying lots of fast killer direct passes, which will be harming your buildup play and possession. And then no one is allowed to shoot from distance, even though your buildup play will likely often leave them without support as it goes from front to back so quickly. That's as aggressive an approach as I've seen on these forums. How are your results?
Craigus89
You could improve a lot from first glance, but how are your results? Are you conceding a lot of goals? My bet would be yes as that is a potentially overly aggressive set up. What style of football do you want to see? Fast and attacking I assume. How do the games look when you watch them? I'm assuming there is a lot of space for the opponents to exploit on the counter as you have a high def line and attacking fullbacks, with your wide players unlikely to track back and help defensively. Have a read of some of the longer threads on here for some general tactical advice.

Results: Interesting you say that about too many playmakers as I have noticed the build up is poor with movement and passing options into space. Would you say it's the central midfielder pair which is wrong? I basically want to play fast, attacking football with players running onto the ball in plenty of space as we have creative central players with quick wingers with good dribbling and shooting ability. To be honest the defence is not an issue, it's really build up play and creating chances, I think I could be doing alot better. But yes fast and attacking football is what I want, I find a possession, low tempo style does not make me win as many games as this risky style I have been using. I will read more into tactics, I have not played the game long so I'm just trying to get used to everything. Thanks for the replies dudes
Craigus89
You've only lost 2 games all season, one of them on penalties to probably the best team in world football. I would say your doing fine.
Joe.
Out of interest, does your Sweeper Keeper make a difference? I play with a SK but only seem to notice a difference when he's in possession of the ball - like he'll casually dribble it up the pitch, but in defence he still seems reluctant to come off his line. I only really use a sweeper keeper because I have quite a high defensive line, If I didn't have a sweeper keeper there would be too much space behind our centre backs for strikers to run into, so Rulli usually deals with that by rushing out, I'm not too sure if bravery has anything to do with it? I know Rulli is brave, fairly quick and has good rushing out attribute. I also give my players lots of freedom.
inacion
I think roam from position works better when dribble less and inside forwards should be support to defend better the wings, but you are getting results. If is working fine no changes are needed.
raizen
DLP-Defend doesn't work well in your tactic imo, i'd guess he has the lowest or second lowest avg rating between your offensive players? i feel like a box to box works better
