keithw44
Advice needed from more experienced / better managers. Is it best to use different fluid tactics every now and again, how often should you swap around? Also does it cause problems if you make 4-5 changes to your team during a 2 game per week period? Guest
I never swap tactics for the sake of it, in fact I tend to keep to a core structure that has 3 players in central midfield & adjust other positions or roles to alter the dynamic of our play of it's needed to counter specific threats of our next opponents. Lordphylogeny
By using fluid tactics, do you mean the team shape fluid, or fluid tactics as in constantly changing. In response to the former, I usually stick to fluid unless I have set up a particularly organized/counter-attacking formation. I do this due to the fact I have found f they aren't fluid then, defenders and midfielders won't chase down the ball against an opposition even if they could clearly reach it first. The latter however is a difficult question because it depends on a number of factors, for example I usually make 4-5 changes for early cup matches, however I think if you had say 3 league matches in a fortnight then making 4-5 changes can be detrimental to what you want to achieve. In my opinion, the less changes the better unless you change it to try and combat something you've found in the opponents scout report, IE. playing a more defensively stronger winger on the right hand side because the opponent has scored 90% of their goals originating from assists on the right hand side.
