too man Advanced playmakers in game??

Recommended Posts

is it me or does about 75% of central midfielders have advanced playmaker as their best role?

is there a reason for this in game, or is it just how they see the players and it's how it turned out?

i understand certain roles will be more popular like in RL but with advanced midfielder it seems strange.

It is up to you whether an attacking midfielder's best role is as a AP or otherwise. Particularly, it is up to you to decide if a AP is what you want/need in tour tactical setup. When you find something that suits both your player and your tactic, that's his best role. Don't let the game make those decisions for you; the game can't possibly know what you want.

If the game sees 75% of all attacking midfielders as having AP as their best role, that is just a result of the way the game calculates attribute stats contra what the game sees as key abilities for roles/duties, and only that. Not to be taken literally. There are other factors that the game don't and can't calculate. That's where you as a manager comes in.

so the circles are more what the players are used to playing than which attributes fit in with which role best?

No, it literally just looks at the player and assigns a rating based on suitability to play that role based on the players attributes...

It's not a definite ' you must play the player as this' type deal... it's a guide purely based on your assistant managers assessment.

But obviously some roles are more specialised than others, so you'll find perceived suitability for them more scarcely given.. which doesn't mean you shouldn't play them there necessarily btw.., it largely depends on the tactic as a whole imo.

It's because there are only 8 key attributes for an AP(s), and these attributes are commonly scored high for midfielders with any degree of skill. It's a specialized role, and you don't have to be a well-rounded player to play it. On the other hand, an RPM(s) has 22 key attributes, and some of them (agility, balance, pace) are typically scored low for central midfielders. I believe the main (only?) driver for the best role calculation is the average score of the key attributes for that position.

f it attributes based why is it some player are better at BPD nd CD than LD when the other two roles are LD plus attributes so they'd need to be okay at LD attributes to play the other roles?

i guess they can just have high ratings for the extra attributes.

There will be some weight to the key attributes in each role... therefore in the case of a LD, it would favour much higher scores in say, tackling, marking and jumping etc, but doesn't require a high score elsewhere, so a lot of players you will see will be more favourable at bpd .... but again, just an indicator from one perspective. You are the manager, you make the judgement yourself.

How many advanced playmakers do arsenal hav in their first 11?

One at a time. But probably 7 or 8 that can play that role well. 4 or 5 that can play in that role extremely well, and 2 that are "born" to play that role (or something very similar) in the central AM position. 5 or 6 promising up and comers in the reserve or youth team.
